Degree: MBA in Marketing
Graduation Year: 2018

I chose American Military University for several reasons. AMU's online format with monthly start dates fits the demands of my busy schedule and multiple priorities. In addition, because I can complete the work at any time, rather than having to sit down in front of a desk (or in front of a computer) at a certain time each week, I am able to maximize my time and efforts. It is also great training for the global busines world in which we operate. Many times teams are remote and/or in countries around the world. Using technology to schedule team meetings, organize group projects and otherwise accomplish business goals is an essential process with which to be familiar. The online format at AMU prepares me for this. The adminstrative team is responsive on email and by phone. The admission process is fairly hassle free, which is important to me. Because a GMAT is not required for admission, this was a big advantage for me since I have learning challenges that manifests during the test taking process. I was also attracted to the program because I knew that AMU is one of the biggest providers of education to military and veterans in the world. It was essential that I would be working with students who are driven, hard working, responsive, focused on the mission, have a sense of service, are self disciplined and have team spirit. I knew that my fellow veterans and military people would have these traits. The quality of instruction, topics covered, and flexibility are exactly what I was looking for in a higher education. As a fourth generation military veteran, I am proud to be attending AMU and would encourage others to do the same.

Degree: Public Administration
Graduation Year: 2018

The thought of entering s classroom again didn't appeal to me. After watching my mother get her degree from AMU, I decided to check it out. I received my Bachelor's degree and am continuing my Masters's degree through them. Classes are easy during undergraduate general education classes but as I progressed through the programs they were increasingly difficult. I would not plan on coasting by as with online courses, you will get out what you put in. Students come from all over; I've had military students, military spouses, civilians from all sorts of different career fields and the causal students. Professors have ranged from tenured PhDs to Professionals with real life experiences teaching (one International Relations professor worked for the State Department rebuilding the Iraqi Government). Overall, I am pleased with the development and skills I have learned and cannot wait to continue my education through AMU.

Degree: Network Security
Graduation Year: 2013

American Public University has many degree programs from which to choose. I chose the Information Assurance & Security Master of Science degree, and achieved a 3.5 overall GPA. The main thing that really works, is they use real world examples as background to doing your own research. Research is the key to any advanced degree, the journey to becoming a lifelong learner begins here, by teaching how to research, and how to properly format and design your findings so that others can learn from what you did. If your time and money doesn't produce a defined result someone can learn from, then why bother starting this journey? Lead by example, learn then produce, so others can follow in your footsteps, whereby the chain just keeps growing behind you. What better legacy to leave behind for your family than to show them how others are inspired by you, simply by learning and reporting in an academic scholarly fashion. American Public University trains you to do just that.

Degree: Environmental Science
Graduation Year: 2017

American Public University is an outstanding school. This University is perfect for military members for several reasons. Since it is a military friendly school, the staff understands that the Mission comes first. Several times throughout my time at APU, I had to leave for weeks at a time with just days notice. My professors gave me extensions or allowed me to work ahead so I would not fall behind in class. This school also offers 8 week and 16 week sessions, so you can learn at your own pace.

Degree: Management
Graduation Year: 2017

AMU provided outstanding customer support through their academic advisors. The process to enroll and transcript review was easy and fast and the response was always quick. Upon enrolling and getting started, all the courses were easy to access and the course work was challenging. Being someone who is halfway through their career, the ability to learn and see the applications on a daily basis was outstanding. The professors were knowledgeable, flexible, and always ready to answer questions.

Degree: Homeland Security
Graduation Year: 2020

This institution is very well adapted to those who are both former military or students coming straight from high school. The instructors are very aware of the diversity that their classes contain in this matter and embrace with both sides on the best way to collaborate and the results is some very great discussions and enhanced learning experiences that even are not always obtainable in the traditional brick and mortar institutions. The aspect of continuous involvement and required interaction reinforces the need to be active and that one cannot just cruise through a course to get a grade for simply doing the bare minimum. Some still are not fond of online educational practices, however there are many advantages over that of in class settings as you can complete the course learning objectives in an environment to which you can best process and intake the educational opportunity but also make sense of the information and then attempt to apply it to real situations to which you are exposed.

Degree: Criminal Justice
Graduation Year: 2020

This institution is very well able to adapt and provides value education to both Active, and veterans of the armed forces as well as those not in the military. The professors are extremely well rounded and have the guidance and direction to allow each student to get from the course what they put in. The institution is not one that can be just done on the side. A person must focus and be willing to dedicate their time to achieving educational greatness as this is what is expected.

Degree: Project Management
Graduation Year: 2018

I'm currently enrolled and pursuing an MS in Information Technology with a major in Project management. American Military University (AMU) has been very resourceful and encouraging in helping me achieve my goal. I'm currently active duty military with rigorous working hours, but the flexibility of this school has made it possible for me to remain in school. For students currently working and thinking of how they could cope with both aspect of life (working and going to school), search no more because AMU will support you through your program.
