"It has been some time since I graduated from Averett. The class sizes, quality of instruction by the professors, the general academic environment, all, make Averett the wise choice for any student. I really enjoyed my educational experience there, a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry."

"Averett University offers a very well respected degree in Business, Education, and Computer Science. After graduating, I was contacted by several companies who were recruiting graduates. Of course if you major in European Literature, this is unlikely to happen but if you choose teacher licensure, hard science, or a STEM subject finding a job will not be difficult. The campus is undergoing modernization and is becoming quite beautiful. The town (Danville, VA) is old fashioned and the natives are not exactly an enlightened bunch in many cases. There is a local group called "the flaggers" (or something similar) that come out annually to march / re-litigate The Civil War. For the town it must be pretty embarrassing considering that it is 2017. If you don't mind things being a little backwards, 95 percent of the people around are lovely, generous, and kind. The campus is patrolled religiously by the PD so it is very safe. The academics are rigorous but no so hard that you have to spend 7 years to get a four year degree. Expect to pay (after scholarships and grants) around $15K per year - that's half of the sticker price advertised by the school. If you are a GPS or IDEAL student, expect a lot of really helpful assistance from your advisor and your profs. They keep you on track to graduate on time. They helped me use the local community college in the summer semester to graduate a little early. Overall, I rate Averett University as an 8.75 out of 10."

"I loved picking classes to go to and making my own schedule. I commuted and that worked good for me. Stick with it, it will be rough at times but it is so worth it after getting your degree."

"Averett University was the perfect place for my educational needs as I moved from a small town in New England: intimate classes, great instruction, a variety of activities, and every professor knew their student's names. I use my degree daily and am grateful for it. I studied English/Journalism/Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. I was able to apply the public relations skills in two nonprofits and in the government sector. I write media releases and grants, and that is thanks to the English/Journalism major. I I would highly recommend Averett University. It is known for aviation and education, however, I'm very pleased with my degree."

"Averett University offers a wonderful accelerated program for working adults called "Graduate and Professional Studies". This program was very convenient for me as a full time mother and working 40 plus hours a week."

"Averett University's GPS Progam cares about its students. The University is currently in a transition period with renovations and appointing new Deans and VP's. During transition mode, the school has managed to set up a Facebook page and shower students with student appreciation viddles. Returning to school after graduating 7 years prior has been a breath taking experience. Averett University had a class to assist working adults back into transition mode. This class has set the tone for my entire graduate experience. The professors are exceptional, knowledgeable, and want the students to excel. My experience returning to school has been nothing but positive. I encourage other adults to accept the challenge and press forward. Thank you AU for what has been instilled. The best is yet to come!!"

"I have had a great experience with my time here at Averett. I play football here and love every minute of it. Averett is like one big family, everyone knows everyone so making friends is easy. I like that the classes are small so you get to know your teacher and the dorms have free laundry lol. You don't really get a "big" University feel from it but going to a small university deff has its advantages."

"I really love it here, because the classes aren't huge, and you can have one-on-one time with the professors. I was actually told if you go to a big university, most of the professors will not help you. They make you figure everything out on your own. Everyone is friendly and welcoming here. I love all my classes except for british lit, but I can get over that. The walking distance compared to a big university, for example, Virginia Tech, is not that bad. Sometimes you may have to walk a ways, but that is only if you get here late. I am a commuter student, so I can't really tell you about the dorms. Some are kinda small, but I don't know exactly what they are like. Overall I love it!"
