"The biology program at BHSU is small enough to provide individual attention from instructors but diverse enough to appeal to many pre-professional and pre-graduate students. Every professor that I worked with never failed to take the time to answer my questions or help me in any way they could. Not only is the university itself a great place to be, but the location is excellent. The Black Hills of South Dakota offer biology students a wonderful backdrop for research as well as outdoor activities. In addition, the campus itself is eco-conscious and provides a wide array of green-friendly offerings. BHSU is an amazing school for pre-med or pre-vet students as well as those wanting to study wildlife and ecology. I highly recommend this university for those looking for a small but capable school."

"I attended Black Hills State University for 4 1/2 years I studied Mass Communications. This school is very dedicated to its students and helping them achieve their professional goals. Excellence in all work was always encouraged and professors are always there to help when needed. I met some of my best friends and colleagues at BHSU. BHSU inspired me to continue pursuing education because of the high quality learning, and am now enrolled in a graduate program. Not only did I receive my education through BHSU I also received my first professional level position at the university. Their time and dedication to their students allowed me to be successful from the beginning of my professional career. The Black Hills State campus is tucked in the Beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota which gives students the opportunity to engage in the rich outdoor culture of the area. Although it is small the campus motto rings true Black Hills State University "Where anything is possible.""
