"Georgetown was such a great school. They provided me with so many networking opportunities to get my sports career started. Their Sports Industry Management program is one of the best in the country. They have really small class sizes so the teachers can get to know you better."

"The program was rigorous and provided a solid foundation in molecular biology and biochemistry; there was also opportunity to conduct research, volunteer and get involved in extra-curricular activities. Be prepared to take out heavy loans as financial services will not give much aid."

"The Georgetown University MS program in Bio-informatics is great if you want to enter into a public sector government position in research or wish to build the theoretical or programmatic foundation to pursue higher degrees. The program's main focus is the internship component, which is usually done on or around the Lombardi Cancer Center near the Medical Campus. I would have liked a greater focus on algorithm or pipeline development, but the program does a good job providing a wide view of the discipline that student can later narrow down to their specific interest during the internship. The central position in DC provides various opportunities. Pros: Broad training in Bioinformatics, Can finish program in a year, Proximity to good opportunities Cons:Lacking a bit on the computational/programmatic side, Not tied to many private industry opportunities, Expensive"

"The MA in Development, Management and Policy is a comprehensive program and takes place in Buenos Aires. The professors are hands-on, helpful and attentive. The fellow students are engaging and also very helpful. I highly recommend this program to other students of public policy, international relations, political science, Latin American studies, or development. Spanish ability is definitely a must!"

"Georgetown Security Studies provides excellent preparation and networking opportunities for careers in government policy and national security. Professors often work in the fields they teach and are very knowledgeable about the subject matter. Class sizes are small and Georgetown often has speakers from relevant career areas come to speak to students."

"Georgetown's Global Human Development program provides development practitioners the opportunity to strengthen their skills, challenge their concepts of effective development practice, and learn from world class staff. The program has a number of required courses intended to solidify knowledge and expertise in areas such as economics, statistics, and strategy development. My economics professors are not only incredibly well respected in their field, but are fantastic teachers. This was critical for me as before the program I did not have an economics background. Students also have access to a variety of courses across the Georgetown graduate schools such as the School of Foreign Service, the McDonough School of Business, and the McCourt School of Public Policy as well as courses offered by George Washington University and other nearby institutions. The program only accepts a small group of students per year, which fosters a strong bond and environment of collaboration within and between each cohort. I really love that the other students place learning above competition. The atmosphere among GHD students is extremely supportive. Since all students have varied professional experience I find that the cohort is a fantastic resource from which to learn. The alumni base is extremely active and willing to meet with current students to provide contacts or advice. The program requires students to work on a project of their choice in a developing country during the summer after their first year. The school funds this summer opportunity, which provides students the unique ability to explore different kind of work as well as various regions. Overall, I am really happy with my choice to attend Georgetown's GHD program."

"Georgetown provides its student with quality education both inside and outside the classroom. With its commitment to "women and men for others" and various Jesuit values, a Georgetown student is always taught to put their education towards the service of the greater good. The amount of opportunities available outside the classroom setting both in terms of travel and extracurricular activities makes a Georgetown student equipped with both academic and entrepreneurial skills. The diversity and globalism of the student body provides a necessary space of interaction for a foreign service degree and trains students to be quite cosmopolitan. While some classes are academically traditional or conservative, a lot of the classes available in the foreign service degree are experimental and allow for a cross of various disciplines. Overall its one of the best schools to attend to get trained in international affairs."

It's DC location give it unparalleled networking and professional opportunities for students of international affairs. Rigorous academics focus on acquiring professional skills such as public speaking and policy memo writing in additional to foreign policy analysis, its interdisciplinary nature allowing students to focus on the international issues most pertinent to their career goals. Coursework is augmented by a variety of exciting programs including high-profile speakers, . Career services are exceptional and assist with finding meaningful internships as well as full time employment. The faculty is known for going out of their way to mentor students both in inside and outside the classroom and give practical career advice. Overall I highly recommend this program to anyone aspiring to be a leader in the international affairs arena."

  • Degree: Liberal Studies
"I recently graduated from Georgetown University in Washington DC this past May with a Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies with Honors. What sets my degree apart from other disciplines is that it gives students the opportunity to explore multiple subject matters and open their eyes to how different subjects carry out the process of analytical thinking and inquiry. Accordingly, students such as myself develop a level of exposure to various social sciences such as economics, philosophy and politics and are able to digest information from different viewpoints. For example, over the course of my undergraduate career, I have been exposed to the works of a number of legal and social philosophers such as Marx, Mill, Austin, and Locke. What intrigued me with regards to the works of these scholars is that despite the difference in subject matter they were all united by the fact that they were attempting to apply structure to social realities. This notion piqued my interest especially with regards to the business realm and how consultancy plays a key role in ensuring the growth and sustainability of different firms. I was instantly drawn to the pursuit of a Msc in Sustainability Management degree and began my research and saw the strong emphasis that sustainability practices had on both the corporate social responsibility of firms as well as the individuals daily activities. My Bachelors degree in Liberal Studies allowed me to understand my specialized interests and allowed me to view Sustainability in light of different opinions, including the opposing aspect. It is the exposure to understanding perception that garners such a degree success in self-growth and analytical thinking."

"Georgetown University was a fantastic community for students who were interested in getting a challenging education: professors were thought-provoking, understanding, and willing to push students to consider angles and views to which they previously had no exposure. The School of Foreign Service in particular was great--the diversity of classes and students who took the time to thoroughly get to know the material and debate issues ranging from American politics to energy security to societal challenges in developing countries."

"I decided to enroll in their Master's in Program and Portfolio Managment program. If you are an experienced professional in this field, my advice is to keep looking. The professor who envisioned this program is stellar. I cannot say that for the other so-called instructors. My advice is to save your money (which is quite a lot) and find another program that has been in existence for awhile. This is the first year for this program and it shows. Bugs in the technology, courses which are mirror images of each other, and so-called professor who need to realize they are instructing professionals with many years of experience in these fields. I cannot nor while I recommend this program to anyone."

"Georgetown is a great school if you work hard and are serious about your future. The school expects a lot from its students and thus you will feel the pressure to be successful. Which is great in the long run. There are plenty of social activities to engage in and with the networking, you will meet so many people from around the world. You might even see a celebrity or two on campus."

"The campus is grand, very beautiful. The instructors are decent, tuition very high. Left with lots of debt, no scholarships, and no career counseling or help with resume writing. Overall, I'd give the school a B-. Debt was high, earning potential not quite as high. Will be paying off the cost of my education for decades. Think twice about the costly price tag."

"ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Georgetown is the wonderful type of place that has a great campus, a passionate student body, and dedicated professors who truly love teaching. I couldn't have asked for a better place to study, learn, and grow as a person (and have a TON of fun along the way)!"

"I completed the online program at Georgetown for my Master's of Science in Nursing. The professors were very smart and helpful (for the most part). My cohort started the program with the understanding that Georgetown would help find our clinical locations. About 2 semesters into the program, the changed the policy and started that students are responsible for finding their own clinical preceptors/sites. I thought this was ridiculous seeing as it was one of the things that initially attracted me to the program. Overall, it was a great program and I felt very prepared going into the workforce."

"We have a smaller department, which provides a great support system. The collaborative nature greatly aids in developing your research. The location itself is rather expensive, but the stipend allows for comfortable living. There are tons of opportunities to further your research as well as enhancing your social life."
