Ohio University probably costs more than it should, but I couldn't believe I had the professors I did while there. I've never met educators and researchers so supportive and helpful toward me and both my long-term and short term goals. These professors helped me grow personally and professionally. Your degree will not have the most prestige, but if you work hard and are self-motivated you can distinguish yourself at OU. The greater University area itself is a little chaotic. The area is quaint but... Read More

Degree: English

Ohio Christian University is fantastic for both spiritual growth and development and overall academic success. The Professor's care on a personal level, the coursework is applicable and challenging, but not too difficult, and the development of all classes available is superb. One thing about this college and the English for AYA program in particular that I wish was different would be that the majority of English classes are offered online because it is a new program. All of the staff were still... Read More

I enjoyed the 5-week adult education format and the Christian focus. However, the staff at OCU have no idea what they are doing. They almost canceled our cohort twice because they forgot to sign us up for the next class. Then when they finally got our cohort enrolled, they charged me twice for the same class. The problems just go on and on and on. One of the students from our cohort was so upset with the constant errors, issues, and billing discrepancies that he actually called a lawyer. I paid my... I have been attending what I thought was College for two weeks. Turns out when this site asked me what did I study, I entered computer skills for college which did not even come up as an actual College course. I've been trying to log into their ohiolink in order to get articles to cite For an upcoming paper. I cannot login it tells me that my registration has expired or is invalid. My paper is now late due to this. I've been trying to contact my facilitator for three days through email with no reply.... Read More

Degree: MBA

Highly recommend this school's MBA program for time-conscious driven professionals. With literally no time on the schedule to add one more video conference or meeting, OCU's 100% online MBA permitted at-own-pace completion of course work. Due to the reach of the online platform there was more than adequate interaction with likeminded individuals, both staff & students in different time zones, all pursuing like objectives. The technical support was excellent; the staff, highly qualified & very professional.... Read More

Degree: Business

The School of Business and Government has incredible professors who have loads of experience in law enforcement, business management, business ownership, and courts. The instructors are very personal, and will do anything in their power to assist you with your learning. I have had multiple professors sit down with me alone, upon request, to discuss topics I do not quite understand.

The Teaching Education program at OCU has been tremendous! The faculty is wonderful and I am learning so much. They offer way more than other schools and assure that every student is prepared and guaranteed a teaching job upon graduation. Highly recommend this program and this school!!!!

A bit too "Sunday School" and I believe I understood and knew less when I finished than when I began. Core classes not as helpful as they should have been. Some of the teaching was a bit stretched and I felt that politics was pushed on campus and it should not have been.

I attended this school's online program for Business IT. The classes are not geared to give you the experience you need. My experience is a nightmare, I started with guidance counselor who was very good. She went on vacation and I had no one to handle my questions pertaining to my classes. I spent all summer trying to reach her to no avail. I was assigned another guidance counselor who did not even introduce herself and she was not all interested in helping. I came to know that I had a different... Read More

Save your money and really research colleges before you go to them. The school is run by students with the exception of most of the professors. So getting answers never happens. They waited two days before my last class to email me .....my advisor,to let me know that she had reviewed my transcripts and I actually need two more biblical classes and may not be able to graduate because of it. Now I had Already purchased my cap and gown and official transcripts as She led me to the websites and had me... Read More

I could not be more pleased with the final results of my degree program. The only thing that a student needs to remember to make anything out of the degree is to have experience. If you do not have experience you will not do well gaining employment after you get your degree. I have applied for the most simple jobs and now I am overqualified without experience. That is not the schools fault. The only thing I think academia lacks is the ability to address that a student may need to do internships while... Read More

I graduated last spring with my Bachelor's degree and I loved OCU! The professors were first rate and the education was vigorous. The cost was reasonable, the staff was engaged, and prompt when it came to questions about assignments or grades. I am currently enrolled in the Master's program for Ministry with a concentration in Pastoral Counseling. I am carrying a 4.0 currently and graduated with honors in the BA program; it is challenging work but very rewarding at the same time. I highly recommend... Read More

This college is eager to enroll students, they are not easy to contact once you are enrolled. Questions do not get answered or addressed. They have a tendency to answer what they think you want to hear, without taking time to understand what you are asking. VERY FRUSTRATING. Makes me feel like I am just repeatedly beating my head against the wall

First, I graduated with an Associates degree in Christian Ministry Summa Cum Laude, I then decided to continue on for my Bachelor degree, big mistake. Many classes had only three people in them, there were so few in fact that they had to cancel one of my semesters, which in turn screwed up my graduation date as well as financing. It was impossible to get them to fix the situation, currently I just dropped my class and am looking to transfer what credits I can (90 out of 104 earned) to another college.... Read More

I find that the courses were quite easy to complete as long as you attended class and were on time each class period. I learned a lot of content--the professors are quite knowledgeable; both in person and online. The University also has good relations with other schools in the county and neighboring counties; which is good for field experiences and student teaching. I thought all things were good at OCU, although perhaps the technology is not quite up to par--not bad, but not top of the line.

Unfortunalty the school has a lot infastructure issues really making it very difficult and strenuous on the student. Several things is that the school requires madatory 2 trips that are needed to be self funded for certain degrees. This is not mentioned to you in orientation so when a trip costs roughly... Far to many basic repetitive classes. Not even touching the main course. The layout and instruction is far to confusing and not written clearly. Seems like a bunch of dimwits put it all together. I did not finish my 1st 10 weeks because there are little communications of clarity when needing help. They have ZERO webinars, and I find those important and very helpful since those are done in real time! Needless to say I ma switching online colleges. Let's start with the fact that I didn't finish. I approached the school because my husband was friends with a recruiter. Before enrolling I explained that I was laid off and couldn't afford payments at that time. They said that's fine and approved me for $40,000 in student loans which they said I wouldn't need all of that. I started and the classes were SUPER repetitive! We primarily took gen ed classes with very few core classes. About 9 months before I was to graduate they said I was out of funding....... Read More

So to update my feelings about Ohio Christian University. Even after getting billed $100 for having to drop a class because of my wife emergency surgery, and $65.00 fee for the book they said I did not return, I promised that I would send the money on my next payday in September. They turned it over to a collection company. They could not wait one week, come on, give your students a break, or do you really not care if we return or what we have to say about this University. I will never admit I attended... Read More
