"I have had nearly zero contact with anyone from the school. I am taking classes virtually, but I have never spoken with a course advisor or anyone from the college and degree program unless I initiated it. I enrolled 1+ yrs ago and was only told in Jan '23 that a set of transcripts was never received when I tried to register for Spring classes. The only reason I learned of it was that I was reaching out to register. This school and/or program does not care about online students and only has these programs as a cash grab for my GI Bill. This program was the biggest waste of time and money regardless of online vs on-campus. I admit, I forgot to fully drop a course, due to life circumstances and it caused my GPA to fall below the 3.0 grad threshold, but even so, I was never contacted by anyone from my degree program or college office that my GPA would be in a probationary status and could affect my continuation in the program. This only told to me when I tried to register for a Spring class that was an elective and I need a permission code. The Engineering School at UCCS and specifically their online programs are entirely uncommunicative and do not follow up or reach out to the online students in any way. Regardless of the reason why. DO NOT ATTEND!!!!"

"Online students can't be confident of degree completion because UCCS is abandoning nontraditional students to build up the traditional student body. Online classes are full or cancelled at semester start. No idea if I'll still be a student semester to semester, since not clear if I'll get into any courses, so will have to transfer to another college and complete a new set of prerequisites. If uncertain of an ability to complete a full degree program in person, don't choose UCCS!"

"Please read!! This is the absolute worst school. It is tiny. No social life at all. Teachers are not qualified, you have to trust me on this. Horribly organized. Every single person I met transferred, including me. Look at the transfer rate before applying. I wish I knew these things. Worst experience of my life. Huge waste of money."

"This degree program was incredible. The degree included a credential program so I was able to learn inclusive education and at the same time apply it to 4 different classroom settings. This program gave me the chance to see what field of children I worked best with. I saw second grade, preschool, kindergarten, and first grade. I fell in love with preschool. Special needs preschool is my absolute passion. This program lead me into my masters of applied behavior analysis. Colorado springs had the greatest professors to guide me. They were so inclusively driven that I begun to see how exclusive the world truly is. This program is the best of its kind."

"I signed up for 3 classes/9 Credit Hours in the Fall '19 to pursue my BS in Business Administration. UCCS charges $37/Credit Hour more than TA allows, meaning a standard 3 Credit Hour class will cost you $111 out of pocket. In addition to that, UCCS charged over $1,300 in mandatory, non-negotiable fees (not-covered by TA) EACH SEMESTER to attend the classes on campus even if I was 100% not going to be using the services the fees were charging for. It total, to take 3 classes during a single semester at UCCS, I would have had to pay $1,600 out of pocket. Suffice to say, I dropped all classes and disenrolled upon looking at my student balance and talking with the university finance office before the semester began.I highly recommend active duty military relying on TA and not using VA Top-Up to avoid taking classes at UCCS unless you want to pay a ton of money out of pocket."

"HORRIBLE school. Stay away. President, chancellor, dean etc have all made cuts for those they know and then the hard working students have to compete with the favored ones even though theres a significant difference in academic performance. I absolutely hate this school and the money theyve taken from me makes me sick. Corrupt leaders. Youre better off at a community college."

"I loved UCCS a lot! The classes were engaging and interesting and the teachers were awesome! I believe the best part about the school is that it has small class sizes and the teachers always encourage going to their office hours, which always helped me! At UCCS, their student help centers are amazing as well! I was always able to make an appointment in the same week to go over what I needed to!"

"I am currently beginning my education with UCCS as a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student. The faculty except no less than your absolute commitment to the program and your personal growth as a student, as a counselor, and as a human being. It is an intense program, requiring your full academic potential as well as your capability for personal introspection ,which you're evaluated on consistently throughout the program. The rewards for this educational degree, to become a well-rounded and more effective counselor, far exceed the level of discomfort that can sometimes happen when you search within yourself the traits and experiences that could potentially impact future therapeutic practices. The faculty is accepting, encouraging, discerning, and approachable. If you want an accredited CACREP Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling that can make you the most effective and resilient counselor then you would be hard pressed to find a more appropriate degree program than UCCS'."

"The University of Colorado (UCCS) in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado is an amazing school with amazing professors! Though it is a large university, it has a small university feel to it, so it is easy to get to know your professors and classmates. There are many degree programs to choose from at both the undergraduate level, graduate, professional, and PhD. levels. UCCS is very affordable, especially for the quality of education that one receives. I would highly recommend UCCS to anyone searching to continue his/her education."

"The Anthropology and Women's and Ethnic Studies degrees are amazing. The professors are well versed in their fields and always available to chat after class and make recommendations for the future. If you are interested ask about Field School opportunities as soon as possible. I was able to participate in a couple and they greatly prepared me for the work I do for a museum today. If you are a minority student of any kind visit Mosaic. They are a great resource and the Student Activities Office has a lot of multi-cultural and minority student organizations to join."

"I was a student here for 1 semester and I have decided to go someplace else. Where do I even start having students teach A&P labs? I am not paying to have students teach me. There is a lot of different cultured people here. But to many protest taking place I decided this isn't a school I want to be associated with. When you have students out by the street in the parking lot protesting whatever cause they have for that moment is too much. This is supposed to be an educational institution and this makes learning hard when there are distractions. I am not impressed with the nursing program that they try to sell you on. It does seem they will take anyone as a nursing student here. Overall, maybe because I am a former student at the University of Maryland I was disappointed in this college. Diversity is great! Do not get me wrong, but come on we are grown adults we do not need students protesting every little thing. There most recent protest the Breitbart News editor, M.Y.. Just because you do not like a speaker at a college doesn't mean other people agree with you. So way too much drama at this college! Feels more like high school than a university."

"I found exactly what I was looking for in a graduate degree program when I found the UCCS MBA program. The UCCS MBA program is an affordable, flexible, versatile and well-recognized program that exceeds the high expectations of a busy and full-time working professional like me. It allows students to work full-time while being a full-time student. And its small class sizes enable great interaction with both professors and other students. I further chose the UCCS MBA program because of its reputation and the flexibility of its course offering. Overall, the UCCS MBA provides me with a well-rounded and recognized education that will build the foundation for my future career and help me move up in my career. In addition to that, once you set foot on the UCCS campus you will fall in love. Colorado Springs is a beautiful place to live in and perfect for outdoor enthusiasts: There are countless mountain hiking and biking trails, camping and backpacking destinations, white water rafting and rock climbing, all coupled with over 300 days of sunshine."

"The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs offers an excellent accounting degree for students who are wanting an edge in the field. Through my educational experience at UCCS, I was able to develop myself into the professional that I wanted to be and made excellent networking connections while doing so. I would definitely recommend UCCS to anyone who is interested."

"UCCS is a really great school. It is in a truly beautiful place and has a TON of great opportunities. You may not get the quintessential "traditional" experience in terms of living on campus and having some huge national sports team to support and lots of raging parties, but if you want to meet some amazing people and learn in a fantastic setting. This is the place to go. Very cutting edge and growing fast."

"The history graduate program at UCCS forces students to be more diverse and open in what they study by not allowing specific studies in one's area of interest. For example, my focus is Ancient Rome, and my classes have included City and Citizenship and Civil War and Reconstruction Era readings and research. This is good for one's personal growth, but I feel it does not make some students competitive enough for doctoral study or teaching positions, since higher programs often require a narrow focus. The academic competitiveness of my program is lacking primarily because acceptance is almost a given for applicants, and afterwards the quality standards seem to be set at a mid-range level (for writing and research, that is). My workload has never been too easy, by any means, but neither has it been very hard. Overall, I have very much enjoyed my experiences at UCCS, though, like anywhere else, it has its downsides."

"The Masters in Counseling Program is very thorough with a lot of information and learning. Graduates of the Program are often given preferential hiring in the community because of the reputation of the high quality of training. Other pros include a cohort model (going through the classes with the same group of people), some online courses, day or evening classes, a large campus with many student activities, numerous guest speakers, community involvement, and unique study opportunities (such as a trip abroad). However, there are some drawbacks. Many of the staff, while they know you by name, do not seem to have much investment in student success beyond program basics. For example, if you are looking for additional opportunities or information, you will be hard pressed to receive assistance. Other cons of the Program are a general lack of communication about deadlines and major events, additional fees and membership requirements that crop up without warning or mention, and inconsistencies with text books. Also, the campus has a large residential as well as commuter population, and parking (and the fees) are a veritable (and expensive) nightmare. The Colorado Springs area is beautiful; there is much to do, and Denver is about an hour away if you're the kind of person who enjoys taking in museums and such. However, housing can be expensive, and the sprawling city didn't have much planning go into it, so it's spread out with little rhyme or reason. Public transportation is fairly good in Denver, but abysmal in Colorado Springs and so reliable personal transportation is a must. Since I have no basis for comparison, I cannot say how UCCS compares to similar campuses and programs. If you are considering traveling out of state for a Master's Program, I would recommend researching them all very thoroughly to see what would be the best fit. If you are already in Colorado and want a Master's in Counseling, then the one at UCCS is probably the best you'll find."
