"One of the best schools in the USA for computer science. The courses are flexible and the instructors are wonderful, some of the course's grading system is not that great but overall it's fantastic, you will learn a lot from these courses. It very challenging as well, they follow rigorous training, projects, assignments, exam, and quiz. One need to study a lot but at the same time, one will able to gain great knowledge on each subject."

"Attending University of Illinois was a life changing experience for me. I grew into the man I am today and set myself up for the future. The well-rounded experience at UIUC was the reason why. It's not just academics. It's not just extracurriculars. Its not just the social scene. It's all of it combined together. Few universities around the country offer top notch education, the #1 party school, and a diverse and intricate student body to interact with. I would highly recommend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign!"

"I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. It was a transformational experience that allowed me to pursue not only a rigorous academic environment, but an engaging, humanistic one too. Studying in the College of Agriculture, Consumer, and Environmental Studies was the best option for me. I loved the people across the college from administration, professors, and fellow students. What we study is relevant, targeted, and research-based. Furthermore, it is a very well-connected community that allowed me to travel, take on leadership roles, and form lasting friendships with everyone I met. I would highly recommend studying at the Univ. of Illinois (College of ACES) for the impact it gave me both professionally and personally."

"The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign offers competitive programs for high-achieving students. While better known for their Business and Engineering degrees, they also have a strong Liberal Arts program for a variety of majors. University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is a very large University, and that should be kept in mind when applying. If you are looking for a small classroom setting with a small student to professor ratio, then this might not be the best fit for you. If you are a self-managed individual that is comfortable with a large lecture, then you will do well in this setting. The school is set on a very large campus, and almost all of Urbana / Champaign feel like they are a part of the campus. The school also offers many opportunities to be involved, whether it is through their athletics, student organizations, internships, or volunteer opportunities. Events are often held on campus, and there is a large and involved social life. University of Illinois also boasts one of the largest Greek experiences of any University. Another great aspect of this University is the expansive offering of study abroad opportunities. I took advantage of studying abroad in New Zealand, which is only one example of the wonderful locations you can choose from. Whether it is for a Winter break program, semester, or year-long program, I highly recommend taking advantage of this program. You will also get to meet many international students at the University, as many students choose to study abroad at the University of Illinois from other countries. Overall, if you are looking for a large University experience, you will enjoy your time at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign."

"I loved UofI, it provided a great community for me to grow and learn. I loved the variety of classes offered and the campus itself was gorgeous. I had good relationships with my professors and was never afraid to ask questions or for help. I found that the on campus options for libraries and other places to study was amazing, there were places all over campus. There are also a variety of clubs and activities going on that it is easy to find your place somewhere in the larger university."

"The University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (UIUC) provided me with the greatest possible experience as an undergraduate student. I received all the help that a student coming from the small town of Manteno, Illinois could possibly ask for from the help of advisors, registered student organizations, professors, and students from class. UIUC is a large college town with a small town feel because there are so many different majors, you see a lot of the same people throughout your career in the major core classes you are required to take. So, once you meet people in your freshman year classes, you will most likely see them for the remainder of your undergraduate career. I would strongly consider going to UIUC if you are a high school student looking for a college to attend."

"I attend the University of Illinois for four years and obtained my undergraduate degree in civil engineering. I think that the way that the university and especially the Grainger College of Engineering stands out is the resources they are able to provide for their students- which put you on the best road to success. Through the college I was able to attend career fairs which landed my first internship- which led to a full time offer, I was able to get free tutoring which helped me significant perform better in school after a rough first year, and offer a world-class education to the expansive network with other universities for studying abroad all over the world. Additionally, as a Latina in a predominately Caucasian and male field, the 'Women in Engineering' and 'Morrill Engineering Program' always helped me build a community, find support, and find my place."

"The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaigne (UIUC) is probably one of the best schools that I could have gone to. I loved UIUC, and it's the educational environment. The school is rigorous, and they will make you into stellar candidates for medical school, graduate school, and for future jobs. I believe that they are exceptionally well rounded and have a plethora of opportunities that you, as a student can take advantage of during your time there, although the cons are the cost. UIUC one of the most expensive in-state big ten schools compared to others. The price is around to be 25,000 a year in tuition, but the Champaigne/Urbana Area is cheap to live in. Other than that, you should become an Illini. The psychology program is top excellent and is ranked consistently within the top 15 for undergraduate and top 10 for graduate programs int he country for clinical psychology. If you intend to be a psychology major, you should go to UIUC."

"The buildings and grounds are amazing, but the dorms haven't been updated in decades. The quality of professors and adjunct staff varies widely and doesn't seem to follow a pattern - some that teach large freshman lectures were amazing, others weren't; some that teach intimate upper level courses were amazing, others weren't. The history program had a handful of effective teachers, but for the most part they were there to research and publish and either didn't know how to or didn't care to be effective educators. Once I began the education program, the overall quality of staff definitely increased, though there were still several that were in the same position as the ineffective history teachers."

"As a first generation college student, the idea of living on campus, 2 hours away from home, with forty-thousand other students was completely daunting. However, after taking a tour of the campus, I fell in love. I knew this was where I needed to be. My undergraduate experience at UIUC shaped me into adulthood by challenging my abilities and testing my faith. I established so many relationships, and friendships with students and faculties that I can still call on today. The diversity of the student body allowed me to connect and cultivate learning from those of different backgrounds and cultures. I earned more than just a degree but respect from my professors, and peers alike. The resources are endless and all you have to do is ask. My undergraduate years will always be a highlight of my career development because I entered the University as an anxious girl and left as a fearless woman."

"It is a big campus and easy to feel lost. The best thing to do is join a student group and find your family, especially when you are in a large program and do not get specialized attention from your professors or counselors. However, in terms of the student and career services, it was a great school."

"UIUC has given me so much. Not only have I been trained and taught by the leading developmental researchers in the field, but I additionally have been given hands-on research experience throughout my undergraduate career. For 3 years, I have had the privilege to work in a research lab. In this position, I have gained insight into all that is required to make research plausible and done effectively. I was able to see all sides of research such as recruiting participants, data analysis, and running daily experiments. Attending the top research institution in the USA has given me opportunities I never imagined and have only furthered my interests in working in the psychology field."

"I am sure that the University has changed much since I attended, but I loved the experience, the school and the town. I felt at home and valued the education I received there. I had excellent instructors and took classes that were interesting to me. I would highly recommend it, but it has since become increasingly expensive."

"University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is a prestigious school with professors that teach passionately and thoroughly. The school encourages a competitive nature from its students. Regardless of the program you choose, you will walk out a professional. The Community Health program in the College of Applied Health Sciences is academically rewarding, but not difficult. I recommend double majoring or following a pre-med, pre-law, pre-something track. The courses are demanding within the classroom, but you should not need to study much. The curriculum is valuable and will teach you to think critically. Like any other public health program, it is tough to find a career with just that bachelor's degree. Again, this affirms you should compliment the degree with something or have the intention to earn a PhD/ graduate degree. Professors in the College of Applied Health Sciences are eager to promote their students success. If you show the initiative, they will go out of their way to help you. I cannot stress this enough. Professors will help you find research, give you direct contacts to work with on campus, and will even personally help you figure out what you should make of your degree. There are career services and career fairs on campus. The job placement it provides primarily benefit those who are willing to stay on or near campus. I recommend utilizing the resources regardless in order to get an idea of how to land a stable job. There are online career resources for alumni, but it's not too helpful. On campus, in the undergraduate library, you can make an appointment with a career counselor. They will make you a roadmap as to what steps you should be taking, help you create a resume, and teach you how to make a cover letter. At University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, students are provided innumerable resources. However, it is up to the students to discover them and utilize them for their worth. It is not the cheapest institution, and really the resources are one of the reasons why. Do not take being there for granted."

"The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is truly the all encompassing college experience. Living away from home, it really gives a sense of adulthood between having to take care of yourself and balancing school work and a social life. It really mimics the adult life that comes afterwards. The classes and professors themselves were intelligent and helpful, (while there is always that one that isn't, overall my professors were grand) and the campus was amazing. The architecture and interwoven nature was beautiful. The campus life was fascinating as well. Imagine a town run by young adults. Everywhere you went, there weren't many adults. Sure, the owner of the Jimmy Johns was around, but if you went into the shop, or the bookstore, or the bar, everyone there is mostly your age. It was an interesting but unique feeling. I would recommend UIUC to anyone as long as you can bear the cold Illinois weather!"
