"The University of Iowa has a wonderful reputation of being a research medical school. Wanting to go into the health field this was extremely desirable to me. However, once I Transferred to the University of Iowa from a smaller community college, I realized I needed more one on one attention that the university could not provide. Most of my instructors did not speak English as a primary language which made learning difficult materials such as chemistry statistics and biology very challenging for me. I did not feel the staff valued me as a student but more so looked at me as a number.I found it challenging to get outside help from faculty and staff and was not adequately advised pf guided in my academic path. The university was however very abundant in extracurricular activities and had plenty of ways to get involved on and off campus."

"I enjoyed my time at the University of Iowa. I wish I took advantage of more opportunities during my time there. There are plenty of ways for you to get involved on campus and make your mark. I will say unfortunately there is a lack of diversity on campus, and that can sometimes get to you, however, I believe by the time I was graduated, the school was taking more of an initiative to make the campus more inclusive. Other than that I enjoyed my time at Iowa, I took advantage of the many student organizations, serving on both Campus Activities Board (CAB) and on the University of Iowa Homecoming Council along with taking up the free tutoring sessions that helped me make placement on the deans list several times. My advice to anyone coming in is to get involved on campus somehow and learn about the many opportunities there."

"Great school. Intellectually rigorous. Above all, the students and faculty here are some of the friendliest people I have ever met. I try to make it back for alumni events every year. There is never a dull moment on this campus. I now enjoy a great job with the City of Chicago because of some of the experiences I had here."

"The University of Iowa is an excellent school. I enjoyed my classes and felt that their was pl but of diversity there. The campus was located along the Iowa River and was butted up to downtown making th campus very walkable. I was assisted with applying and getting financial aid by caring and capable staff. I would recommend this university to students looking for both intellectually challenging and a beautiful campus."

"I absolutely loved the University of Iowa. It was the best decision that I have ever made in my entire life. The atmosphere there was indescribable. I was a direct admit into the Tippie College of Business, which was a blessing. The amount of people that I met throughout college reshaped the person I am today. I am still in contact with many people who attended the business school, which has opened doors in my career thus far."

"The music therapy program at the University of Iowa is one of the top programs in the country. The professors work you hard, but always with a caring hand. The program is kept small to ensure that you have a personal relationship with each professor and graduate student. The program works with any type of student, undergraduate, graduate, second degree, someone with children, equivalency students etc. I always felt fully supported and encourage. I always knew that the University of Iowa had an outstanding music therapy program. However, it was not until I entered the work force that I realized just how well I was prepared. When working with other professionals I realized that, even as a new employee, I had almost all the skills I needed to thrive. Instead of spending most of my time learning "on the job" I was able to jump right in and feel successful in my work. I owe all of this to the training I received at the University of Iowa."

"The reason I chose the University of Iowa for my Bachelor's degree was because they were one of the top ranked schools in the nation. The reason I chose to stay there was because of the caring faculty members that continually helped me reach and surpass my goals. Everyday while I was in the program I would learn something new or put one of my new skills into practice. The instructors all helped me answer my questions in a timely manner and I was never left alone to "fend" for myself. The course content matched well with was I was expecting from the course. During human genetics each student made their own genetic tree and learned about what conditions may effect them in their future. During healthcare finance the students all learned about Medicare and other insurance companies and how they worked. I truly believe that I received the best possible education I could have at the University of Iowa."

"University of Iowa has an amazing Management program. The professors are all very helpful and are happy to work with you individually. I wish there was a better program in place to help you find positions related to your major, but thats more the career services fault. The Management school itself does prepare you very well for life after college."

"One of the amazing things about the program is that it is fully funded and you earn a stipend for teaching undergraduate courses. The faculty is extremely knowledgeable and they push you beyond your comfort zone in order to stretch you. While being a very accepting environment, it lacks in diversity among the student body. There is a great and unique opportunity to be involved in new works and to create your own performance opportunities."

"I really enjoyed my time getting my bachelor's in journalism at the University of Iowa. The program has well-rounded course work that prepares you for a career immediately upon completion. From taking courses in the history, ethics and laws associated with journalism to learning about video editing extensively, students are able to work in a variety of fields within the discipline. When I graduated, I was a writer and editor for a travel magazine in Africa and went on to work in marketing and communications roles. I do students should consider moving to bigger cities after graduating, such as New York City, to have more job opportunities in certain areas, such as magazine reporting. However, there is a need for journalists anywhere you go!"

"When students think state schools, especially Iowa in the Midwest, they do not assume the same amount of prestige that is awarded to an East coast university. However, Iowa has completely changed my perspective of universities because the amount of prestige, experience, and opportunities available to students here is second to none. In fact, I love Iowa so much that I have chosen to pursue my graduate degree here in the fall. Iowa provides a textbook university experience, both academically and socially, without breaking the bank."

"I am just starting the MBA program so I'm not sure my review, at this point, is terribly relevant but so far the program is well organized and there have been great resources for orientation. There are also regular communications from the program about upcoming events and changes in the program, which is incredibly helpful, especially since I'm just getting starting."
