"A great university with flexible curriculum. Provide a strong alumni network around Pittsburgh/ Western PA area, though seems weak in other parts."

"The University of Pittsburgh is an excellent school. The instructors are very good, however their financial aid department could be a lot better taking in the fact that the school has one of the highest endowments in the country. But the school is extremely well in terms of research opportunities and the abundance of professionals you can work with. The school also has many programs for different people. In terms of ethnicity, the school is not that diverse however they provide many minority programs."

The instructors were also very knowledgeable and challenged you in may ways builds for a stronger persona."

"Pitt is a great school if you are interested in research - it's the research hub of western PA. The social scene is a bit scary if you've never lived in a big city, and classes are huge until you declare your major and specialize. Overall, this was a good learning experience but I am glad I went there only in hindsight. The name "Pitt" has given me more opportunities than my actual experience there. It was only in my last years when I studied what I really liked and got to know professors on a higher level did I somewhat like my undergraduate experience."

  • Degree: Chemistry
"I am very satisfied with my chemistry degree and liberal arts education from the University of Pittsburgh. My professors were knowledgeable and approachable outside of class. The chemistry department offered ample opportunities for research and professional development. There are courses to gain teaching experience as a teaching assistant for undergraduate laboratory classes. The chemistry department allows for some flexibility in courses and offers multiple tracks to gain your degree: bioscience, business, materials, or ACS certification to name some. Introductory classes were large, upwards of 300 students, but upper level courses were smaller and more personal. Departmental advising was satisfactory, but I was sure to check my graduation requirements and if I was on track to graduate without issue. Amenities at the school were plentiful: quality dormitories, fitness centers, study locations, dining, and social activities. While the school is located in the city of Pittsburgh, it is more on the outskirts in a neighborhood called Oakland. While the campus is not isolated, its presence is certainly felt and most of the Oakland area of the city is dominated by the university. The school is very diverse, and I interacted with students, professors, and others from around the country and world. The campus police's presence was felt, and they did an excellent job keeping the students safe. Overall, my education, training, and professional skills gained at the college have benefited my career and development."

  • Degree: Healthcare Administration
"The Master of Health Administration program at University of Pittsburgh is top notch! They match each MHA student to a residency at a Pittsburgh-area hospital, and they help students apply for fellowships (30 to 40% of graduating students join a fellowship). In other words, students are GUARANTEED an internship! All other programs don' really help students find an internship. Also, almost all MHA students find employment within six months of graduation. The professors and staff members at Pitt are very friendly and they are always available. They help students succeed in class and pursue their career aspirations. Networking opportunities are amazing! The school is always bringing top health care executives to recruit students or network. This week alone, ten CEOs and VPs came to school to meet with students! Finally, you want an MHA program to be accredited by CAHME. Pitt is accredited by CAHME, AUPHA, and CEPH! There are so many campus activities and social events. If you don't want to worry about finances, Pittsburgh's living cost is low compared to most other American cities. But big caution for you, University of Pittsburgh doesn't grant a lot of scholarship money to grad students. Other schools will give you financial aid, but Pitt won't. However, it's worth the money because I know I am guaranteed an internship and I am confident I will find a job after graduation."

"The University of Pittsburgh School of Law is an amazing law school. First, the school is very diverse and specifically tailors many programs and classes to student's needs and interests. The career services department is very hands-on in helping you find jobs and update and edit your resume and cover letter. In addition, there are many opportunities for networking and meeting judges and other legal professionals. The professors are also very hands-on in helping you reach your full potential. The professors encourage you to attend office hours and are always willing to stay after class to answer any questions are help you better understand the material. Also, living in Oakland/Pittsburgh is such an amazing experience. There is always something to do and great food to eat. In addition, Pittsburgh is a very bicycle-friendly town. There are bike lanes almost everywhere, making it easy to get to any part of the city."

"The University of Pittsburgh is a rich, diverse institution nestled in the heart of Oakland, where students from all walks of life come together. I would highly recommend this college for other students because of its wide variety of degrees, professors, and extra-curricular. The greatest experience I had at Pitt was through the study abroad program. The university has programs in hundreds of places with every degree in mind. For my junior year, I studied abroad at the University of Alcala in Madrid, Spain. The program was excellently ran and professionally organized. They made the process easy so I could focus on my studies. My semester abroad was the best month of my life and I highly recommend it to any student interested in the University of Pittsburgh."

  • Degree: Pharmacy
"University of Pittsburgh is widely known for its advanced science programs, with top tier research instructors. That is what first allured me to the school, along with the remarkable teachers with their willfulness to help everyone. I was ultimately accepted into the University of Pittsburgh school of pharmacy where the small class size and brand new medical equipment helped me truly grasp what it was like to work as a pharmacist. Pitt's pharmacy school definitely lives up to its reputation of being the 9th best pharmacy school in the nation. The teachers truly want everyone to succeed and find a specific pharmacy specialty. University of Pittsburgh was a great choice for me, and for any one else that wants a wondrous education."

"The University of Pittsburgh is one of the top schools in the nation in the health sciences. I am lucky enough to be studying within the School of Arts and Sciences which as been rated one of the top 10 according to the U.S. News report. The education is fantastic, and there are many resources available to questioning students. The only cons I see are financial because education, especially graduate education, is expensive."

  • Degree: Information Technology
"I'm very happy that I could have a chance to pursue my master program in Information School of University of Pittsburgh. First of all, University of Pittsburgh is a famous university with high ranking. It's my honor to study here. It has beautiful college environment. The graduate program I'm studying in has pros and cons. It's great that most professors are professional to teach knowledges and deal with everything carefully. Also, the staffs would share seminar or working opportunities with us very often through email. But some emails have bad style organization, it's difficult for students to catch the important points very soon. It's better if there could be a bbs to post the most recent information. I believed that iSchool has tried their best to cooperate with other companies so that they could come here to provide us students special career fair opportunities. We could know more about these companies, and have a great time to practice how to talk with recruiters. But actually they give us very few opportunities. Of course students' abilities are not that strong. Why? because too many students have enrolled in this program, no matter how their abilities are. Maybe it could help to improve iSchool's reputation if iSchool could be more strict for applicants. Information Science program is a good program for us students in all, because graduates here are more likely behaving well in programming and have higher rate to find a job. Working hard to make myself achieve something different also make iSchool become better."

"PROS: Very challenging program with professors well articulate and versed in their field of studies. Students must work hard for their grades, and there are no free pass! Great school with a very challenging engineering program. I love it! CONS: No financial aid for grad school, period! Students have to fend for themselves or seek for a loan. No help for career mentoring for grad students. All career mentoring is focused on undergraduate student."

  • Degree: Counseling
"This graduate program wasn't exactly what I had expected when I joined back in 2014. It has all the things I was hoping to get out of a masters degree program. I love how all the professors are passionate about teaching young minds and showing what they know. With the professors being passionate about the field, it gives me reassurance that I am in the right place. They share the same passion as I do in the rehab field and I know they have a lot to offer. The courses are challenging but they improve my counseling abilities after each one has ended. It wouldn't be a worth while career if I didn't have to work so hard to get it."

"Pros: relatively easygoing faculty and students; low internal competition; other labs are generally willing to help out with reagents, new techniques, etc. Cons: administration is often unwilling to adapt and update courses; cost of living is rising for students wishing to live on their own without roommates."
