Pitt was great! A great location, within a city but feels like your own little campus town!

First year here, Pittsburgh is a really nice and quiet city, and living expenses is lower than lots of city of same size.

Among the pros: oppurtinity to teach and do research, many seminars in different areas. Among the cons: sometimes the amount of work is too much, too many exams that might interfere and slow down research

Not enough oversight of the teaching assistants, although programs have been recently implemented to address this. There has also been an apparent unwillingness to send unprepared or undedicated students packing when they don't meet certain "strict" deadlines (like not passing preliminary exams within the first two years, for example).
