It is extremely difficult getting the most out of an online education. There is a lot of pros and cons and at times it's difficult to focus on the pros. You simply do not get the same education and experiences you would as an on campus student. If and whenever possible I would recommend getting your degree in the traditional classroom environment.

I love this school because of its strong support system. The faculty are willing to help you as much as possible in and outside of the classroom. After moving to California from another state to pursue my Master's Degree; I was worried about adjusting and the challenges of school. Thanks to the strong support system, my first year was an absolute delight!

The online MFA program at AAU is intense, yet flexible. It is one of the few of its kind in the U.S. I would like to see more scholarship opportunities within the school.

The fashion design program at AAU is a very rigorous program. It's at times difficult to get the full support needed to succeed in the online atmosphere but I've been making the most of it. It's been my experience that there's also little to no scholarships or grants available in this field of study particularly at the graduate level. Which is difficult because is extremely costly to be enrolled in this program.

I feel that obtaining a MFA in Fashion Design can be valuable in and of itself as there are not many MFA programs specifically for fashion design. I believe that some of the online faculty do not make themselves available enough to the students in a timely manner.

I feel that the only cons about the program, is that I would like to live in the city that the campus is located. It is an expensive city, but with planning and budgeting I feel that I would have better social interactions with peers in my courses.

Pros: Gaining knowledge from Instructors that are currently in the industry I am seeking to pursue, endless exposure for networking opportunities with cutting edge brands and companies in my area of study. Cons: Tuition is expensive and Financial aid is limited.

Online learning is convenient for so many reasons, mostly because it allows you to do when you can during the week and weekend. The cons to the graduate program for online students at AAU are the lack of instructional material that is thorough; the fact we learn from finding tutorials to go with the subject matter we are studying especially in the technical classes. Overall I would recommend AAU to anyone who wanted a solid, good education.
