Degree: Social Work
Graduation Year: 2015

Since getting accepted to Adelphi University, faculty has been available to assist in any way from registering for classes to guiding me when filling out my promissory note. I would encourage prospective students to attend Adelphi University because of the quality of support that is given from faculty in order to build for your career! I look forward to attending in the Fall of 2014.

Degree: Social Work
Graduation Year: 2016

The Master's in Social Work program at Adelphi University provides a lot of flexibility. There are full time and part time options for completing your degree. The staff members/ advisors are very supportive and encouraging. When it comes to field placements, they do ultimately choose your internship. However, they definitely take your needs into consideration. The only con to this graduate program is if students do not want to be stuck with loans this might not be the graduate school for you. Since this is a private school it is more on the expensive side compared to CUNY colleges. However, Adelphi is considered to be affordable compared to other private universities.

I cannot comment on the academia so far, but everything else I have heard is pretty accurate. Transportation is awesome with train access very near to the campus, financial aid at any school is terrible in my eyes, and the campus grounds is gorgeous!

Degree: Social Work
Graduation Year: 2016

Adelphi University is located in a quaint town in Long Island, NY. I find it beautiful and there are so many activities to keep undergrad and graduate students busy year round. The campus participates in lobby day, where students travel to Albany, NY to speak with Legislators about issues going on in the community. HUGE for social workers. Not many schools are there that day, its an amazing feeling to speak with someone and see real change.

Degree: Health Sciences
Graduation Year: 2016

The pros of my graduate program are, the program is online so I am able to maintain working full time, the school is close to my home which is good if I have an issue, professors and online support are offered within large range of time and the program offers a strong network to interact between the professors and my peers. The cons of my graduate program are that the program is expensive and the coursework has no breaks and runs for 2 years and 4 months

Degree: Elementary Education
Graduation Year: 2015

I am currently enrolled as a graduate student at Adelphi University in the Ruth S. Ammon School of Education STEP Program. STEP is a unique five-year combined bachelor’s/ master’s program for undergraduate students preparing to teach at the childhood and adolescent grade levels. More specifically, I am on my way to completing my master's in elementary education with an advanced certification in special education. I have been student teaching for the past year in NYC public schools and have recently been accepted into the Model Teacher program for my fifth year at Adelphi. The Ammon School of Education offers Adelphi graduate teacher candidates a two-semester participant observation/student teaching program. Candidates have the opportunity to observe and participate in classroom activities during the fall semester and begin their student teaching experience during the spring semester.

I have some amazing instructors however since my background is in education and I have experience as an educator advisory did not take that into account. I made a couple of friends and got to take classes at the Garden City campus, which is nice.

Degree: Social Work
Graduation Year: 2014

Adelphi is a good program to receiver your MSW at. The cost of tuition is a little high, but the school is well known on Long Island and has a good reputation. I was able to practice in two placements during school, which were vital and helpful to my further studies in the MSW program. Professors were available and willing to help. Did not spend enough time on-campus to rate campus life because I was a commuter student.
