Online education allows me to work on my MPA while still working a more than full-time schedule, taking care of my family and community. Technology hiccups sometimes are frustrating in the school's library, though.

Excellent to be able to work on degree program at night after work and getting the kids to bed! Tough sometimes, especially if internet problems (aka, bad weather). Work around is to download or print what is needed before beginning to write.

I feel that the graduate program at American Public University is great for people who cannot afford nor have the time for regular graduate school. You are receiving a rigorous graduate program that works with the hectic schedules of full-time workers.

Other than the financial department messing up my account a few times the educational programs this school offers, and the accessibility of those programs to military, especially those overseas is great!

I am currently enrolled in the Education Program at APU. One of the great qualities to this program is that it is 95% online. This makes it easier for me to continue my most important job...which is being a mother to be my two young children while my husband serves our country as a Marine. One of the down-sides to this program for me is currently the expenses. Along with the tuition and often times 3 or 4 required books per class make money tight in our household.

American Public University System is a great university for an on-line education. You attend classes when they fit in your schedule. The instructors and students are from all over the world and are willing to help answer questions and listen when you ask. The only con I have found is that there is no face to face interaction with your peers or the instructors.

I believe the pros are the instructors will work with the students if needed, they have great knowledge in the field of study. The cons are that they should have more resources for students with disabilities and disabled veterans.

Pros: Very convenient and inexpensive. Higher level classes taught by good profs with current experience in the field (environmental science). All of the classes are highly relevant in the current working and political environment. Cons: I'm not convinced the profs hold us to the written standards, and so I get the impression it may be too easy to graduate from this program. Frankly, I don't want an online education to mean easy; I want it to be worth the same as a "brick and mortar" school.
