Pros: Very convenient and inexpensive. Higher level classes taught by good profs with current experience in the field (environmental science). All of the classes are highly relevant in the current working and political environment. Cons: I'm not convinced the profs hold us to the written standards, and so I get the impression it may be too easy to graduate from this program. Frankly, I don't want an online education to mean easy; I want it to be worth the same as a "brick and mortar" school.

It's an OK school. Its focus is on active duty military. Anyone outside that may be better served elsewhere.

I am so completely happy with my Graduate Program at American Public University System. It is an online university that is very user friendly. Whenever I feel the need to call my student advisior or someone in student affairs, I always get a real person who cares, not a telephone recording. There is even technical help on the week ends! All of my Professors have returned emails timely and I have even spoken with some Professors on the telephone, once when I had surgery and another time when my new computer was giving me a difficult time. Have actually met several students through emails and when people make friends with me they actually have a friend for life. The downside is that one does not actually get to meet the Professor in person. P. - Grad Student

This is a great institution if you currently have a busy schedule. All online but much mire easier to navigate and contact than most institutions.

The only area that ranked low on the rating scale was the financial aid. It is a complicated system and I have had problems with the people who work the department in messing up packages and have to reapply for financial aid.

I am a student working on an intelligence studies master's program. The instructor's are VERY knowledgeable and will challenge you to be better. Since the school in an on-line school many of the ratings were not applicable. The on-line format makes you work hard but does give you some freedom to work on your own schedule; but there are still deadlines to be met! I am very happy with the school and am already considering a second master's degree from this school.

I feel AMU/APUS is an outstanding online school. I an enjoying the Criminal Justice program and I find the professors to be very helpful. The workload is not too much and allows me to continue with my very busy life at work and social activities with very few interruptions. The categories above with no stars are n/a since this is an online campus.

APUS is an online Graduate Program so we do not have housing, food or athletic programs, but we do have a diverse student body and a faculty that is supportive and knowledgeable. The educational experience is one of the best. They push you hard to learn and while you do it at your own pace, you do have deadlines and assignments that have to be completed. Discussions with other students are encouraged so you do have a lot of opportunities for interaction.
