Excellent program that caters to military and veteran students. Pace suits non-traditional students who have jobs to support families. Professors are knowledgeable and helpful. Courseware is relevant and insightful. Online school software is easy to use and doesn't get in the way of learning.

American Military University, AMU, is a part of the American Public University System. It is by far the best value in online education, especially considering that they are regionally accredited. Great program for busy professionals.

So far I have only been in the program for four months. I am also online and have never been to the campus. I am really learning a lot of new material on international relations and have been having a great experience so far.

For the most part, professors are easy to communicate with via email, but could use a better resource when communicating with students on answering their questions concerning specific assignment questions. The social life for online students is obviously already difficult, but their could be more activities to involve online students within the various groups/clubs/honor programs/etc....to get them involved. In the accounting classes, it would be nice if their were excel spreadsheets already available for students to use to plug in their answers, especially for older students like myself that could benefit from learning how to utilize spreadsheets that will be something they need to know in the real world.

You do not get to claim having gone to a big name university, but it is on the East coast and it is very affordable!! It exceeded my expectations. I expected a low quality since it was affordable, but I only had one professor that left a little to be desired. I had a number of wonderful and highly intelligent and intellectual professors, even with Ph.D.s from GREAT universities, like Berkeley. This place is nothing to sneeze at. You will be more than pleased with your experience. I would say that they should get all their professors on the same page as to little details like how they expect all footnotes to be done, but other than that, THANK YOU APUS!

My program in Homeland Security is fantastic. It is all online and they provide many of the books online, so you do not have to buy more expensive books. Being in the military the school is very understanding when things pop up and work very well with me to make up my work. Great University!!!

Degree: Public Health
Graduation Year: 2015

I have completed three classes so far in the Public Health program. I have found the program to be both challenging and interesting. The instructors have been very helpful assisting as needed to help the student gain the knowledge needed from each class. Over all I have enjoined the start of my program.

It's a great school depending on the individual student's needs and stage of professional development. I would personally prefer a brick and mortar. There is no social interaction. Financial Aid does not collaborate well with other academic institutions. Faculty are a little hard to get ahold of. Tuition is tremendous.

Currently I am enrolled in the MBA program at American Public University. Compared to other online universities, the cost of tuition is significantly lower and the education is great. My only con about the program is that so far it seems like every class is done in the same format – main weekly discussion due midweek, assignment and discussion replies due by the end of the week.
