I am happy to have completed my master's project and received just enough encouragement and guidance to do so. My issue with AUNE was with the administrative support, which was completely bizarre and a never-ending source of delay and frustration. The web interface is old, clunky, and full of dead links. I couldn't register for classes until I downloaded Explorer, which I haven't used in years. Application, registration and degree conferral processes are strangely difficult to accomplish. The administrative staff didn't communicate or confirm anything unless nudged over email. My Antioch email often locked me out and forced me to re-set my password (particularly if I was using a different computer or using Chrome). When I was able to log in, I found an inbox filled with bake sale, yoga and lost/found announcements.....lots of them....but never anything I needed to know from the registrar's office. The whole experience felt unprofessional and highly frustrating from beginning to end. I was just as grateful to put AUNE behind me as I was to complete my master's project.

I am still enrolled in this program and feel I need to make this review to help others. Faculty with the online program are hit and miss. I have had some really amazing and dedicated instructors, and others are just an insult to the profession and should never teach a course again. Many students have had phantom instructors who never engage or offer ANY feedback. Currently 2/3 of my professors are like this. I have felt so discouraged in continuing the program because of the instructor's lack of engagement in the classes and have begun to look at options for transferring the credits I have already earned. It is very important to be highly motivated in your own learning for that reason. I think the program is growing at a rate that it cannot keep up with. I do not think I would choose to take an online program after the experience I have had here and the lack of feedback I have received this semester, it feels as if my money was wasted and could have used my undergraduate account information to access a database if I wanted to stay current on research articles. I am feeling very disappointed and discouraged. I have been advised to contact my instructors if I would like to receive feedback, I guess after each submission of an assignment I should send a request in order to receive feedback. As far as course content, the material is engaging and interesting- but some classes are still being developed so there is a lot of repetition (and multiple classes will assign the same readings). One course that we took repeated the same discussion question pertaining to different material for the whole course of the class. Some classes have had more attention and planning put into it than others. My best advice to anyone looking for a program to enroll is try to talk with or find someone who has graduated from the specific program that you are interested in and hear what they have to say.

I loved my time attending Antioch New England Graduate School. While adhering to the current credentialing requirements to obtain a professional license, the school provided me with an excellent understanding of providing individual psychotherapy. My only regret is that the school was so expensive and the starting salary for a new graduate is so low.

After a short stint teaching outdoor education in Ohio upon graduating with a BA in college, I decided that I wanted to become a classroom teacher. Heading up north to Keene, New Hampshire to pursue an M.Ed and K-8 certification would prove to be one of the most important decisions of my life. I was young, 23, and alone but was soon embraced by the Education Department at ANE and given a job in the Department as an administrative assistant., and got a cheap apt. in a rental house in town. The "integrated day/theme study" approach fit my personality and style well, and I was soon caught up in the creative process. After a few challenging but rewarding internships with local public schools set up by ANE, I graduated within two years and scored a summer teaching job at a boarding school in New Hampshire. From that position, I soon began to network in the independent NAIS school world across the US, taught at 5 different schools from Florida to Kentucky to Ohio, and am now happily teaching at age 52 in a thematic curriculum at an all boys school in Ohio. My wife of 20 years and I have 3 boys who all attend our excellent school... My dream all started at ANE!

I began my Graduate career in a rather backwards way. Unlike many of my fellow students, I was not already a teacher but had worked with children on the Autism Spectrum for a few years before deciding to return to school. Originally, I meant to spend one year earning the Master's level certificate in Autism Studies, but as the first year came to a close, I realized that I was really excited about the educational path I was on, I was super impressed with my cohort and I loved the classes that I was taking and the professors who taught them. I decided then to continue on to a full master's degree in Education, and I currently work in public schools as a behavioral specialist. Antioch made my education possible with their flexible schedule and hybrid online/campus programs. I found the program rigorous in a highly personalized way; my opinions and experiences were taken seriously and therefore I felt a deep need to prove myself and engage critically with the information. I appreciate the open minded and progressive viewpoints of the professors as well as the diverse backgrounds of the students. As I become more and more familiar with the working of the public school system, I find that my opinions and understanding of students and their needs is a breath of fresh air for both the families and educators of the students I serve. I owe my competency and confidence to the professors at Antioch who helped me to think critically and to act compassionately.

Antioch University NE was an excellent fit for my experience and goals: moving from outdoor education to a career in school-based youth development. The faculty are truly outstanding in their dedication to pedagogy and, in particular, their modeling of teaching. Each class I attended was prepared and facilitated in way that modeled and emphasized the practice we were discussing and learning. The work I was asked to do - reading, group projects, research, student teaching - was authentic and meaningful. I had a voice in choosing how I spent my time and energy in order to achieve my individual, professional goals. Antioch continues to be a resource to me in my career.

The Antioch MBA in Sustainability is a fantastic program! It has definitely given me the well rounded business education of the "traditional" MBA curriculum, with an understanding of sustainability and systems-thinking strategies woven throughout. I feel ready to take the next step in my career and help my employer develop strategies that focus on profit but also have a positive impact on social and environmental problems of the 21st century.

I love Antioch because it is a very small campus with a small student body. Everyone I've met so far has been wonderful, and all of the faculty seem helpful, efficient, and knowledgeable. Antioch has a great atmosphere and a lot to offer.

Pros: A few AMAZING teachers who greatly contribute to the learning environment, the department staff is friendly and very excited to be in the field and really try to encourage the students, the cohort (for the most part) is a very intelligent group of people who have greatly contributed to the learning environment, there is a strong focus on self-care. Cons: So DISORGANIZED! Students are not told what classes to register for until about a week prior to the semester, students are unable to select the professors that they want (sometimes the professors do not know they are teaching the class until the week of), long 8 hour classes during the summer (which are painful despite the amazing teacher), many administration problems ranging from being unregistered from classes to financial aid screw ups, the online learning environment is atrocious, students who clearly shouldn't be in the field have not been dismissed from the program, Antioch is advertised for busy individuals, but is not set up for busy individuals, It is nearly impossible to go to Antioch full time and work full time without having a nervous breakdown!
