Degree: Clinical Psychology

Attending the PsyD Clinical Psychology program at Argosy University has a wealth of benefits. First, and foremost, it is APA accredited. This means that future internships and employers will recognize your degree as legitimate. Second, the school is small. Housed in a three story commercial office building, the program consists of about 130 students and 8 primary faculty. The classes are small, allowing for better class discussion and more one-on-one time with professors. Not only does the program curriculum meet APA standard, it exceeds it in many ways. It consists of the standard two practicum years but also adds an additional year focused strictly on diagnostic testing. This is something that most other programs lack.

I enjoyed my time. I worked hard and got my degree. High turnover of professors.

It's an OK college but the tuition is too high right now.

I thought that it was good overall. However several classes were quite redundant and I would have liked to have had more practical application classes such as grant writing

My school offered courses you take online as well as in the physical classroom. They are mostly part-time courses since most people have full-time jobs depending on the study. It was convenient for me because I had a full-time job during the day and classes were held in the evening in a physical classroom. They even have a small library, private study rooms and a couple of computer labs at their convenience. It felt more professional even though the students and faculty were close-knit to another.

The administration and faculty at Illinois School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University is always striving to be better. ISPP cares about their students and provides many opportunities for feedback from students and faculty to tackle diversity issues and cultural competency issues. The curriculum provides a rich learning environment with professors who are experts in their field, and the APA accredited program allows students to graduate ready to compete in the job market.

I enjoyed the flexibility of learning online. I found the courses to be at the correct level of challenging. I would recommend Argosy to someone interested in online learning.

The classes are very mixed meaning you will have a little of everything, presentations, in class exams, take home exams, papers, and a lot of readings!! You get a well rounded experience. The curriculum is so far very well put together and they make sure you will have enough experience to prepare you for every level of your career. Instead of just focusing on therapy, you also get the assessment piece as well as research. I do like that about the program. You can also pick a concentration. Overall, great experience!
