Degree: Biomedical Sciences
Graduation Year: 2018

I applied to this program with hopes to increase my academic background for admittance into a dental school. The expectations are high, but the professors in this program prepare you in all facets of learning. I exceeded my own expectations & was accepted into 4 schools. I have Barry University & everyone who embodies this program to thank. Highly recommend.

Program provides allot of support emotionally or academically. Administrators and almost all the teachers are readily available. The program is designed to be like the first year of med school so I definitely feel I have an advantage when I start med school in the fall. Even during my interview process it came up and it was in my advantage the design of the program to be like the first year of med school . Definitely had an impact on me being accepted.

Degree: Biomedical Sciences

I decided to pursue the Masters degree in Biomedical Sciences at Barry University after my family member completed the program and successfully matriculated into Medical School. I whole heartedly believe that this program played a large role in me getting into medical school. Medical and Dental schools come to campus every month and the faculty in the program work hard to develop relationships with them that help us when we are applying to Medical School. I believe that the number of matriculants to Medical, Dental and other Health Professional schools from this program speaks for itself. I definitely recommend this program for those who need a Gap year to improve their chances of getting into school.

I found out about the program through one of my patients who said the program helped him get into medical school. I quickly looked into the Barry BMS program and quickly knew that this program was exactly what I was looking for. From the first time I toured the Hollywood campus I felt like the dean and P. were there to support their students academic success. My first semester I was challenged in new ways and learned better ways to study for rigorous material. When time came to took the DAT I was definitely well prepared and I thank the BMS program for that! These classes prepare you for the future courses youll have in medical and dental school and I truly felt I had both professors and mentors. Everyone at Barry is there to help you do well. This fall I was accepted into multiple dental schools December first and I believe the BMS degree helped make me more prepared for my future! Id recommend this program to anyone who wants to feel better prepared going into professional school or to boost their application.

Degree: Biomedical Sciences
Graduation Year: 2017

I attended Barrys Biomedical Masters program hoping to build a better science foundation in order to improve my MCAT score and ultimately become a more competitive applicant for professional school. Upon completion, I achieved both goals and much more. At my undergraduate school, lecture classes were relatively large and it was hard to get one-on-one time with professors. I was compensated for this at Barry, where faculty know each student by name and are willing to go the extra mile to ensure students understand the material being taught. Moreover, I was able to gain leadership experience through organizations such as BMS Society and becoming student ambassador. I was recently accepted into medical school and I owe a great deal to Barry's masters program; from the professors all the way down to the staff. I am confident going into my first year of medical school knowing I am prepared to face the challenges ahead.

The BMS program at Barry University is phenomenal and I would highly recommend it. Although the program is rigorous and requires dedication, it has prepared me extremely well for either job in the Biomedical Science field or for medical school. It also prepares students well for dental school, PA school or any other professional school. The professors are extremely knowledgeable and are always willing to answer questions that you may have. The administrative staff is also wonderful and Im happy that I had the opportunity to associate with them.

Prior to earning my Masters Degree at Barry University I was unable to have the privilege of even interviewing at prospective dental schools. Thanks to Barry, I was able to strengthen my GPA and DAT. The BMS program at Barry helped me grow personally, scholastically, and professionally. The faculty and staff at Barry are extremely helpful and aim to help you succeed. I feel much more prepared for dental school due to the rigorous courses I have already mastered in this program. I have since gained multiple acceptances and look forward to what lies ahead.

Degree: Social Work
Graduation Year: 2017

From the first week Barry university has been, in one word, chaos. Professors show up 45 minutes late, students do not have language comprehension to read basic English or understand assignments. I can only speak to foundation level MSW courses, but Into to SW's content can be reviewed and comprehended within a three hour movie. Not an entire semester. The professor for this class doesn't know how to answer questions on information being covered and spends at least 20 minutes/class talking about her family and completely irrelevant stories. Bring a catholic school, its not surprising Barry faculty feel compelled to bring their faith into the conversation. What seems to be lost on them is the fact that not everyone is catholic, and therefor would appreciate the topic staying on what will be relevant to our field. I dropped two classes after two weeks, within the grace period and was expecting a tuition reversal. It took six weeks to be refunded, after being re-directed from department to department, no one know who I needed to speak to in order to resolve the issue. Faculty and staff were rude and cynical. I was placed on hold for an hour, drove to the office I was trying to reach, and it was empty with staff hanging out. I had to pull teeth to get my add drop form printed, after I was told it didn't exist by Financial Aid in my schools department. When I printed it out and showed it to her she yelled at me, took me to another staff and handed the work onto him and walked away without saying anything to me. It seems the school only looked at me as a source of profit. My academic advisor also made zero effort during the semester. I met with him once to discuss a letter to the dean which I needed re: tuition reversal ($4,500!). He said he would have it to her within a few days. I never heard from him again. I emailed twice to follow up and stopped by his office during office hours and he wasn't there. People I've spoken to regarding how awful my experience was at this school seem to be surprised, and it appears I have managed to have the worst experience possible. I decided to leave after one semester, and as a result of my experience, would absolutely not recommend Barry for Grad or Undergrad. Dorms are a dump and the campus is nowhere near downtown Miami. Public transportation is non existent. There are no restaurants or bars. Barry is a Catholic jail. Don't waste your money. Wish I had paid attention to transfer rate..

Degree: Organizational Leadership
Graduation Year: 2020

This blended program is the perfect option for the multi-faceted field or HRD and education professionals. Barry University has the most diverse and well-versed instructors I have had thus far, and they combine class instruction with unique design and delivery which is key in learning how to engage students in a digitally demanding world. I look forward to all this program will offer me, and encourage those looking into Ed.D programs to consider it.

Where do I begin? They are the most unorganized and unprofessional group of people Ive ever met. Starting from the financial aide office, the office staff dont seem to have a clue whats going on! I filled out my application 6 to 8 months prior to entering graduate school. When it came time to disperse my financial aide money it seem as though no one had a clue when my money be in my account. When I asked what would happen if the money doesnt get here in time if registered for classes, the response was the courses would get dropped! When I have gone to other institutions, the turnaround time to receive my financial aide money very short! I had reservations about going and I should have listened to my gut feeling about this so-called University! As for the professors, I cant say much other than if you want quality education from quality professors who are quite knowledgeable in there area of expertise then this isnt the place for you!
