"Having graduated in December of 2022, I was constantly told & read in emails, how much they want you to succeed. How much they would be willing to help. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case for me. I have had an extremely hard time finding work as I have no previous Public Health work experience but do work in a hospital as a CNA. I am putting in resumes, cover letters, & checking on them, weekly. I apply to places almost daily. I have had someone on LinkedIn go over and polish my resume. I still can’t even get in for an interview. I promise it has nothing to do with my work background. I’ve had three jobs in the 20 years, since I had my first job. Never have I been fired or even written up! There are job fairs, career fairs, all on my usual work days, which I can’t miss. I have reached out to my guidance counselor, or the team running the career & job fairs to ask if there are additional resources, if unable to attend. I receive nothing. Crickets. As soon as you have graduated, unless you plan on reenrolling for your MPH or even BSN, it seems they don’t really care about your future. Just as long as you pass & graduate to make them look good. Super disappointed."

"Pursuing a degree in Health Sciences was the best thing I could've done. This program aligns you with a admin professional who direct you along the way to graduate on time. Not too often do you see a university that cares as much as BSU does. I was enrolled in a "finish in 4" program and I can guarantee you it has lived up to its name. I am a proud graduate with a bachelors degree as of May 2019 and am moving forward to obtain my masters. Go Broncos!"

  • Degree: Creative Writing
"I had a great experience with the English department at Boise State University during the four years I studied there. The faculty that I worked with were knowledgeable about the process of writing and had either been published in literary journals or published novels. The classes outside of creative writing were just as engaging for a student who loves literature and debating concerns of the times. I had one or two negative experiences but those were with adjunct faculty. Overall I would say that the quality of the program is high, and the amount of knowledge that I have is useful in getting further in writing."

"My college degree program was highly beneficial to me in my pursuit of my career. My advisors informed me about classes I could take to best prepare to apply to graduate school following my graduation and I was provided with many resources about career services and opportunities I could pursue if I so chose."

"Boise State University offers so many opportunities to explore your interests. During my undergraduate degree, I was really interested in traveling and studying Spanish in a foreign country. Boise State gave me the tools and resources I needed to study in Spain for one year. It was the best year of my undergraduate program. I accomplished the main goal I had set for myself thanks to the help of the on-campus study abroad office. Boise state also hosts events that teach you about new cultures, poetry readings, hosts local and non-local authors for readings. The school really provides opportunities for personal growth."

"This school has a lot of potential. My graduating year got the raw end of the stick, we never really got the classes we needed and if you failed a class it was hard to graduate on time. However, they have made great strides in trying to resolve this issue by redoing some of the curriculum in some of the classes and adding more classes that are diverse."

  • Degree: MBA
"Graduated from the Career Track MBA program. In short, it's lacking. Classes are very easy, especially if you've worked in business or took business classes during your undergrad. If you have work experience and are making $50k or more annually don't waste your time. They are very focused on just getting EVERYBODY graduated. Job placement is not a priority and neither is academic integrity. We had students caught cheating and one guy coat-tailed the whole program to the point he got kicked off his capstone team but he still showed up at graduation. If this is appealing to you then you should apply. The good - Your professors are genuine and will work with you to learn the material. It's pretty cheap and they have a lot of graduate assistant positions for the program. If you just want to party and get an MBA it's very doable and most of your classmates want the same thing. If you have zero business experience you will not be overwhelmed. In short, if you have zero business experience and no real career prospects, go. If you have any kind of career or think you'd like to get an MBA that'll open doors and plug you into a network, steer clear."

"Boise is a great little community to go to school in. BSU has great academics and professors, but it also has great, and unique, extracurriculars (a Quidditch and Beekeeping team to name a few). Other perks of being a Bronco that I have particularly enjoyed are checking out laptops from the school, and riding the city and intercounty busses for free with my student ID."

"I grew up in Idaho and I always told myself I'd go to college out of state, however, Boise State ended up offering me scholarships that I couldn't refuse. I was a little disappointed but after I started attending classes, getting involved in school activities and meeting new people, I was so grateful I'd decided to choose Boise State. The faculty was always super helpful, the sense of community was great, and the campus is beautiful. I feel as though some of the curriculum could have been tougher, but being in the social sciences, the curriculum is naturally less rigorous than say, economics. So, I could be wrong about the difficulty level. Overall, I'm very happy with my experience and would attend again in a heartbeat."

"Marian is a small school. This comes with pros and cons. The pros are that the staff to student ratio is small, meaning that students are given personalized instruction and attention. The cons are that the smallness of the school includes a lack of diversity in the student body and limited resources on campus. Overall, a good school and solid education."

  • Degree: Supply Chain Management
"Boise State University offered a great program for Supply Chain Management. I feel that the program allowed me to understand the basics of Supply Chain, and has set me up for a great entry level position within Supply Chain. The curriculum was easy to manage, and was not too demanding. The professors were always available, and had a myriad of work experience under their belts that helped us better understand the applicable topics of Supply Chain, and how they apply to various industries."

"Boise State's Educational Leadership program has been a fabulous program for me to begin the next phase of my career. In the class, we are encouraged to create networking teams to help us grow through the class together. We are able to complete our reading and apply our learning through project based activities."

"The Educational Leadership program at Boise State has been an amazing experience which has challenged me to change my view of administrators of public schools. We began with a weekend of team building and have continued to build relationships with our fellow students as well as our instructors. All of this has run parallel to fantastic learning challenges and project based learning assignments."

"I am originally from Arizona and was recommended to attend Boise State University (BSU) by my High School Athletic Trainer. All I knew about BSU was that they had a top notch Athletic Training Program and that they were home of the Smurf Turf. I decided to take a campus visit and upon an 18 hour car drive, I realized that this campus and city would be my future home, The surrounding area is covered in lush green trees and grass with the Boise River running right next to the campus and the foothills literally in the backyard. The people within this community were all very friendly and helpful and finally the campus was clean and full of welcoming faces! Once my undergraduate career at BSU started in the Fall of 2013, I was blown away. I was quickly engaged in extracurricular activities and taken under the wing of a program director who has helped me every step of the way to my commencement. However, the help from Dr. Steiner was not all I loved. My second year at BSU, I was accepted into the Athletic Training Program and was in awe with how invested every professor in the Kinesiology Department was for each student. Every classroom I entered full of questions, I would leave with a clear understanding and a sense of accomplishment. Thanks to this excellent academic environment, I finished my degree in four years and attained the confidence and knowledge to be a competent and proficient Athletic Trainer. Attending BSU has been the best decision I have made and my time here has opened the doors for me to attend graduate school at Western Michigan University Fall of 2017. For anyone that is looking for a school that has a lively student population, academic success, opportunities outdoors, or the next step to their future, I highly recommend taking a visit to Boise, Idaho and ground yourself to the pristine foundation that Boise State University has to offer!"

"Attending Boise State University was an experience I will always treasure. Boise is certainly a hidden gem of the USA and the entire town unites around the university, (especially when it comes to football and the athletic department). The many branches of administration put a great deal of effort into promoting diversity, academic progress, health awareness, and leadership. I would best describe the student body as having an abundance of enthusiasm and spirit. Student government and the academic advising office work hard to support their peers both intellectually and socially by planning a wide variety of campus events and workshops. There is always something exciting going on at campus and there are countless opportunities to make new connections or get involved. The professors are especially engaged with and supportive of students who reach out and demonstrate any effort in their classrooms. After expressing a candid interest in fieldwork to my professor, I became involved with advanced seismic research and eventually got to participate in graduate-level courses, which really made my resume stand out on future applications. I never felt like my back was against a wall or that I didn't have someone in my corner- I would absolutely recommend Boise State for college consideration."

"Boise is a nice college town. It would do some good to have a bike. Otherwise parking a vehicle on campus could be pricey. The library is a nice quiet place to study, the higher you go up the more tranquil the noise. I attended four years here, and even to this day use the public computers for when i have to write a research paper for my job."

  • Degree: Communications (Speech & Rhetorical Studies)
"The communication program offers diverse areas of study along with an incredible staff that are available to guide students through the graduate process. The program offers thesis, projects, or tests in order to obtain your degree. All of the professors work on their own scholarship research and teach graduates how to publish their work or get into communication conferences. The experience is invaluable and also very challenging."

"Boise State University is a great school with very supportive professors and advisors. The engineering department has interaction with NASA programs which is what brought me there initially. My experience at BSU overall was very good. If you will be living on campus, my recommendation is to apply to the Living Learning Communities as you will live in the same dorm facility as other students with the same major as yours. You make great lifelong friends and you also have someone to study with."

"Great, supportive staff. I am an online MSW student and I am really impressed with the logistics, and they seem really on top of things. Prior to this school, I attended a prestigious private university (not online) and they didn't have it together the way this distant online college has. I think you will learn most about social work in the field, and the program is there to guide and support you during your learning experience. The financial aid office is highly organized and easy to deal with."
