"Unique program full of intellectually curious students and learned, open-minded professors. An oasis of intelligence in a sea of political science uniformity. High emphasis on theory and history of ideas, not a good place for quantative work."

"The chemistry program as a whole is strong and excellent. However, a larger stipend would make the affordability of living better and the program needs more diversity."

"The Graduate School of Social Work is one of the best in the nation and this was evident to me after the first semester. The program is challenging, but good and very appropriate for my pace. The faculty and staff is great and they are always available. I really appreciate that. I just wish there were more housing options for graduate students. Besides that, I have nothing negative to say."

"The Poli Sci department is political-theory dominant, and because I am studying Comparative Politics, my sub-department is not a priority to the department. So there are fewer events, opportunities, course offerings, and so on, for comparative students. That being said, what we do have is still quality and the professors are excellent, and very invested in the success and well being of their students."

"The doctoral program in history at BC is something special. There's an unusually convivial spirit amongst grad students in large part because we're all guaranteed funding so we aren't competing with each other. Reading groups provide feedback for written work and there are opportunities to present work in progress. For the most part, professors are available and engaged (and engaging). My adviser in particular is amazing. There is a fairly high teaching load, but having fourth year for funded research is amazing. The department is also open to discussing and promoting job opportunities outside the ivory tower."

"Going to BC for my MSW is the best decision I've made thus far. The experience as a whole, the faculty, coursework, and opportunities, have proven to be while worth the move to Boston."

"I've enjoyed the majority of my courses so far, though some of the core courses could have been more challenging. The students in the program are fantastic, with good diversity, very good social atmosphere, and great variety of people here."

"I feel like a lot more resources are poured into the undergrad program because of their rankings. There is also not a lot of choice for classes when you are in your 2nd year and not focused on finance."

"In the history department, I've worked with some fantastic professors. I feel that I have learned a great deal on my subject, but also about professional academia. There are also many opportunities for students to gain hands on experience teaching at an academic level with TA positions. The workload is rigorous but manageable, and I feel more confident about my skills. The history department is also beginning to offer new areas of study, including minors in archival work and public history. Off-campus housing that doesn't cater to undergrads can be pricey. There is a Graduate Student Association, but they don't seem very active."

"Boston College's Masters in Accounting program proves itself to be phenomenal with its exceptional faculty and network. My in-class experience has been amazing with great professors and classmates. However the only downside is that as a one-year program, the coursework is very expedited."

"The quality of the program is amazing, with the opportunity to earn two certificates and the instructors are great. However, the cost of living in Boston is very high and there are few opportunities for financial aid. You can also only work as a graduate assistant in your second year. The system for scheduling classes is very archaic. The timing was off for the opening with the system time ahead of real time. This lead to me having to choose a different class time and instructor. It would be better if the scheduling system was better integrated into the online class system."
