Degree: English
Graduation Year: 2013

The English program at Cal Poly Pomona is a small and tight community. The professors provide incredible support academically and professionally. Because there are three options to choose from, you basically have three sets of professors that you work with. All of these professors are passionate in the classroom, and all of them are eager to help the students in any way they can. This small classes help foster communication with the professors as well as with other students. Many times, you have the same classes together due to sequencing, which allows for great support among students as well. There is a sense of competitiveness in that students want to do well and learn from each other. There is no negative competitiveness where students no longer want to work with each other. I highly recommend this program especially for those who are not sure if they want to enter the field of English. The three options allow exploration, and everyone in the program is very cooperative and welcoming.
