Degree: Social Work

Instructors are extremely helpful and always available for students. Curriculum is great and everything is tied into real life skills and possible scenerios. However, program is new and things change rapidly.

The pros of my graduate program is that the cohort size is small which allows students to have greater communication with the faculty members. The cons of my program is that it has limited funding and financial aid resources.

Degree: Nursing
Graduation Year: 2016

CSUSM has a very challenging graduate nursing program-- the workload is heavy, however the professors are intelligent and helpful, and I feel like I'm being adequately prepared for my future career.

Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2015

The psychology graduate program at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) is of the highest caliber. The program is very research oriented making it a great stepping-stone for those who wish to obtain a doctoral degree. The program is not aimed at providing experience in becoming a marriage and family therapist or a clinical counselor. CSUSM's psychology graduate program includes course work in advanced research methods, statistics, and undergraduate teaching, which prepares its students for careers in community college teaching, community service, and business. The psychology faculty, both tenure-track and current lecturers are diverse in their backgrounds and research interests and are very welcoming. The course work can be overwhelming, especially in the first semester, however the students and staff are very supportive, the quality of education is of the highest caliber, and the experiences gained while in the program are invaluable.

Degree: Social Work
Graduation Year: 2012

A graduate program will be hard work and time consuming. That can be seen as a pro and con, but with effort, drive, and willingness to complete a goal it can be done. I have two children and I know by showing them I can complete school so can they, even with the stuggles/battles we have gone through.
