"Title: Deceptive Practices and Disappointment at Campbellsville University As the mother of a young athlete who was offered a soccer scholarship to study at Campbellsville University in the United States, I feel compelled to share our deeply disappointing experience. Despite the significant financial sacrifice for our family to support our son's passion for soccer, the university's handling of the situation has left us regretting our decision. Upon arrival, there was no information provided about the training schedule. After expressing our desire to meet the team, they reluctantly allowed our son to undergo an unannounced trial during a practice session, despite being on campus for a considerable time without any training opportunities. This appears to be the university's standard approach – once the fees are paid, they show little concern for their international students, especially those who secured scholarships through sports. Despite reaching out to the foreign student mediator and even the university president, no action was taken. It seems that they are complicit in this deceptive and disappointing recruitment practice. Prospective students and their families should be wary of Campbellsville University's neglectful treatment of international athletes after the enrollment process is complete."

"Sadly, I am highly disappointed with the MSW online program at Campbellsville. Campbellsville's work load is 4-5x times as much with much stricter grading, and no room for error. This program is discouraging and would not recommend it for anyone working a demanding family. The classes are impossible to complete with an existing career and having a 3 hour time difference applies even more pressure. It’s defeating when you have spent years working towards a goal and have been successful in all of your classes, and then transfer from a university to attend this online school to fail. This program Should be customized to fit those wanting to pursue a higher education that have families and a full-time job, which is the whole purpose of online schools. Most of all the professors are not supportive And when you are having any technical issues, they tell you to contact IT but don’t help with any contact information or attempt to do their best to work with you. Especially, when there’s an error on their end. do not create their own curriculum, but it is already decided for them. The professors thus far Appear to be very knowledgeable in their field, but do not support students or help encourage them. The feedback on assignments is a joke with no examples unless you look it up yourself… the assignments are not realistic. This program does not involve any teaching, but we are expected to learn on our own in order to complete the assignments. I would like to know how many students are passing classes (a C is unacceptable in this program) and how many have to retake them. This would show how successful this program actually is and what can be done Differently. I am starting to regret attending this University. I love social work and have Sacrifice and dedicated years to get to where I am and then to be discouraged in the middle of a program is Defeating."

"Do yourself a favor avoid this school. I am telling you again do not even apply. I just do not know where to start. It is about the money they care . Instructors are not even qualify to teach well actually none of them teach you anything. They only grade your assigment. They will give you a homework on moodle you do it they grade it. Unfriendly staff, and instructors. I didn't enjoy my experience at this university. I will not be returning here."

"The quality of instruction was good. The office handling online instruction regularly provided misinformation, especially about pricing. It is what one might expect at a used car lot. I was encouraged to enroll in classes far in advance of a term beginning and had difficulty with cancellations, schedule changes and accounting. The school did not allow use of their own greivance procedure to resolve disputes. I was clearly a customer, not a student."

"This school is awe ful... They try to present themselves as an awesome university. There MSW program is not good. The chair of the program thinks she is above you as well as staff If you are disabled please do not go here they are not disabled friendly. Glad I found out sooner than later. I rather go to a prestige school and be treated like a human being..."

"Campbellsville University is a Christian school that is culturally diverse, which the latter I am extremely thankful for. The atmosphere of the school can be warm and welcoming, or the total opposite. I think it depends on whether or not you are part of the Christian cliques or an outsider. My English degree helped me see outside of the narrow-mindness of Christianity. It helped me see the world from different points of view. It helped me appreciate the different cultures of the world. It helped me see past the facades of so many people on campus. I think it is important to not get wrapped up in the cliques. Expand your friend group, especially at a school that has so many different cultures/nationalities present! Do not limit yourself to one branch of the college (theology, English, psychology, etc.). Get to know teachers and students from different department. Explore. Expand. Evolve. Engage. Dont exclude people that are different from you. Learn about them. Learn from them. Engage with them, before you cast them aside as an outsider. This is my advice!"

"The tuition is expensive and the majority of professors are adjunct. They post the standardized coursework and grade your assignments. That is all. They may reply to an email with a few words, but they are not concerned about your success. The campus staff also works from home much of the time and there is a voicemail for many campus numbers that says, "We are experiencing high call volume at this time. yada yada yada." You can not get in touch with anyone and there is no organization. I pay every month and then someone not from the business office calls me and tells me I have a large outstanding balance that needs to be taken care of. The administration is a mess. Classes are a mess. I DO NOT recommend this school."

"I am highly disappointed with the MSW online program at Campbellsville. I transferred in from another university, and Campbellsville's work load is 4 times as much with much stricter grading. It is nearly impossible to complete with an existing career or family which is the whole purpose of online schools. The professors do not create their own curriculum, but it is already decided for them. Because of this, the professors are not teaching (no videos or instruction) but are simply there to grade our assignments which we must figure out on our own. Also because of this, the professors do not have the knowledge of the course content to answer questions properly or to make adjustments if the assignments are not realistic. For example, we are told that we will lose points if we go over the word count for weekly posts, yet after the assignments we receive comments such as "you should have written more about..." It is impossible to write more about the topic since it is already a struggle to stay in the word count requirements. I do not think the professors realize that it is impossible to answer the questions within only 250-50 words. This program does not involve any teaching, but we are expected to learn on our own in order to complete the assignments. My classmates have shared similar experiences, as most students I spoke to wished that they would have chosen a different school. Many students have shared that they are not passing classes (a C is unacceptable in this program) and have to retake several. I regret going to Campbellsville, and I feel like I have nobody to talk to since there is no support."

"It is a great college and has a great student diversity. There is a lot of international students. This is not a party school, so if you are looking for a school that you can also party at this is not it. This school is kind of in its own area, so there is not much to do outside of school."

"A pro is that the faculty are there to answer any questions that you may have. The classes are small so you get the attention that is needed. A con is that the graduate program is expensive and you pay for you license on your own. Another con is there are multiple books per class."

"Campbell University is a small private Baptist College located in the middle of nowhere in NC. However, the campus is beautiful and the professors are the best and actually care about you and your success! You truly do get the best education at this wonderful university, and its remote location makes it that much easier to focus on your studies. However, it is only about 35 minutes from NCs capital Raleigh so a social life is possible! I love my time spent at Campbell."

"Campbellsville University's Carver School of Social Work and Counseling is an excellent program in the empowerment approach to social work practice. This program is geared toward generalist practice prepares students for professional service in a variety of social work areas. Field practicum placement comes a bit late in the year for January start students."

"When I first began applying to schools my senior year of high school I wanted to attend a school with a reputation. I looked at Western Kentucky University, University of Kentucky, and the University of Illinois--schools that were known for their sports, or activities. I had heard about Campbellsville University from my fiancé and knew that it was a small school but I had never looked into going there. Once I finally sat down and looked through their brochure, I knew that it was a school worth looking at. I scheduled a visit with the admission office and before I could ever walk through their door, I was in love with the campus. The grounds of the university are immaculate; the grounds-keepers, faculty, staff, and students are continuous in their efforts to maintain a positive campus appeal. The university goes farther to ensure a positive environment. The buildings are equipped with the technology and atmosphere needed to keep students focused and achieved. The biggest benefit of Campbellsville University is the personal relationship you are able to create with the faculty and staff. The teacher to student ratio for the university is 13:1. Teachers make sure to invest in their students--meeting one-on-one, giving after-class assistance, and even texting/calling when needed. After spending my college career at Campbellsville University I am glad that I decided to be a name and not a number."
