Capella University changed my life, but I must confess it was not easy. In 2004 earned a PhD, it was not bought, nor given to me. The faculty at Capella University come from all walks in academia. In fact, the founders are graduates from Harvard University. For those interested in studying in Capella University be ready to learn, do your work, and succeed on your own terms. The summer sessions in Minneapolis are great.........Learn Well, and prosper!

I loved attending Capella because it fit into my schedule and I was able to continue working full time while I attended school. While attending, I felt supported by the Capella community (staff, professors, and other students). That support continued after graduation as I have been able to keep in contact with many of the people I met.

Capella University is a great place for online learning. I was a little skeptical towards the idea of doing a fully online course, as my undergraduate was a hybrid course structure with 1 day a week in the classroom. However, that skepticism was quickly relieved during my first course. The academic advising and instructor teams are great. The instructors appear to always be available for asking questions, getting direction on assignments, and respond to any needs. Another great thing about this online institution is the 'life happens' policy. This is different from other online universities, as it allows for students to take a week from discussion questions if a personal event occurs and time is needed elsewhere. These services made it easier to get through the program and succeed in the work I was submitting. The tuition is also some of the lowest priced out there, and the university is affiliated with many professional businesses and groups that offer discounts towards tuition. Also, the financial aid team is great with contacting you to make sure you understand the amounts due, the funding for student loan availability, and your discounts are correctly applied. As a student, I was able to select the number of funds needed for tuition and decrease the number of payback funds needed to complete my program. Compared to other online universities, Capella University is, on average, $1500 to $3000 less expensive. This made a huge difference in choosing the school. My degree program was very well placed, and I had time to take 2 courses each semester and work full time. I was able to complete my degree with distinction (all As) in a little under 2 years, and it has made a difference in my confidence and ability to increase my earning potential. I would highly recommend Capella University to anyone.

Online learning is not for everyone. It works well for busy adults. It took me 7 years to get through my PhD program at Capella. I am very satisfied with the experience though challenging at times it was well worth it. The professors and mentors range from extremely helpful to not helpful at all. I must say I only had 2 professors that I didn't care for over the 7 years. I was fortunate to get a decent mentor with no change. I do recommend Capella to those with the motivation and dedication to stay the course.

The classes are flexible and the work is adaptable if you take the flex-path option. For those who are busy, working, parenting, or can't get to a physical campus then I would recommend Capellas online flex-path option. And if regular style classes our your thing, well they have those too.

Capella University has a great online Doctoral program. The faculty are responsive and eager to share their knowledge with students when asked. Being primarily online, the school does not have phone numbers accessible if a student needs to contact someone urgently.

Capella University is a school concerned about the educational standing and career outcome of their students. When pursuing a degree online, I did not expect the professors to provide as much guidance as they did. I majored in psychology with an applied behavior analysis specialization. Capella University has an outstanding applied behavior analysis program with teachers dedicated to preparing students for the world of applied behavior analysis. Not only does the program provide equip students with the scientific knowledge needed to pursue a career in applied behavior analysis, the program also provides students with personal experiences within the field. I will definitely continue to recommend Capella University to those pursuing a higher education.

Capella University was the exact type of school I was looking for to fit my type of life schedule. I am a wife, mom, worked 40hrs./week, and ran my own business. Doing a six week course at a time online was very helpful, and their advisory staff was in constant communication with me to make sure I was on track and ready to graduate.

I have received 2 degrees from Capella University. I decided to continue to pursue my MBA because I wanted to take a different career path than I was on. The overall program was great. I felt the instructors had experience in the field and was able to help me with any questions along the way. Because I am a retail manager, online school was the only way that I could finish my degree. But I decided that I wanted to break into human resources because that is the part of the job that I liked. But I would suggest that anyone looking to get into a different field try to find a mentor and get some typed of experience in that field. Although, having the degree is great, it is not enough for one to make a transition.
