Degree: Social Work
Graduation Year: 2017

I am current a third year doctoral student in social work. Online is most convenient for my work schedule. Course work was appropriately challenging. The dissertation phase has been frustrating and time consuming because of minimal communication with the school and Inadequately trained mentors.

I am in marriage and family counseling-online. The program has incredible teachers, the curricula is spot on and diversified or well rounded. You receive training for all members of the family, adolescence, marriage or couple, individual and also in mental health. Capella has lots of help for students such as a writing lab, plagiarism checkers such as "turnitin" (they also provide APA style writing information for proper siting info) and tutoring or a personal mentor. They give you all the tools for success; you need only to utilize it. You receive and give introductions when you begin class so you get to know your peers. Often there are team projects to further peer-to-peer interaction. They do all they can to make the online experience as close to physically being there as possible. As far as cons, I have found none. Some people mention that the costs are high. I did a lot of research before choosing Capella University and they are comparable to other universities. Sure tuition is up and that makes it hard to manage finances and paying for college. That is one reason for looking for scholarships. I am trying to supplement my tuition because I am running dangerously close to not having enough student loans to finish. But that really has nothing to do with the college. I cannot find any cons as of yet as far as Capella goes. They do an awesome job and seem to take pride in our education.

I am unable to give stars for several categories; campus safety, surrounding area, transportation, social life, nor affordability of living because I am an online student. As a result, the overall rating should be higher, at least 8 stars. I really like Capella and my program, the course design is great, each week the assignments build on one another making the final project pretty simple top complete. As long as you put the time in you will not be disappointed.

Degree: Counseling
Graduation Year: 2018

The education I am receiving at Capella University feels of quality. Since I have never attended a grad school before, I have nothing to compare it to. However, I feel challenged, and I understand that the program upholds the high standards set up by the accrediting boards. I do miss face to face time with professors and other students, but the flexibility online school brings me is the whole reason I am able to continue my education. This program is expensive and sometimes I wonder if I can continue. But, I do not want to give up my dream of graduating from a school I believe in and future I really want to have.

Capella University is a terrific school - it is helping me to achieve my goals of becoming a Psychiatrist. Winning a $1,000 graduate scholarship would greatly alleviate my financial burdens. God bless!

Degree: Computer Science
Graduation Year: 2017

I am studying for a MS degree in Information Assurance and Security with a specialization in Network defense. The program is very informative and I have developed new skills in cyber defense. The uniqueness of the program is that you interact with your peers and have hands on activities. I enjoy the written assignments because of expanding skills and enhancing learning.

Capella has excellence graduate programs. They have the program that I wanted. The university is online and in the classroom. It is required that you attend three colloquiums that are offered quarterly and held in different cities. We get the opportunity to interact with the faculty and other students. You learn a lot in the classes, and you are with students who are on your level. First-year students are Tract 1, second-year students are Tract 2, and third-year students are Tract 3.The university offers numerous ways of communicating. They have retreats, online discussions outside of the classroom, webinars, a writing center, just to name a few. It's a great school you should check it out.

Degree: Business
Graduation Year: 2016

My grad program is 100% online, and independent of others student learners. This is good and bad, in that I am able to work at my own pace, but I also have no contact with my fellow classmates, eliminating the social learning aspect of grad school.
