Capella University's online program has more positives than negatives. Faculty, financial aid and advisers are available and supportive. Technology is often update and student's laptop must be able to keep up with the changes. Classes are interesting. My experience has been very positive and rewarding.

This is a great school for anyone looking to advance their education. The University is online, which is great for those who have a hectic schedule and can't attend a campus school. I would recommend this school to any and every one. The faculty gets back to students in a timely manor, and customer support is always available. In my undergrad at another university (on campus) I never felt as if I mattered. But at Capella everyone matters.

The pros are that the program is primarily online and that the quality, once completed, is pretty great. The cons are that there is little assistance with financial aid and funding assistance. There is also a great deal of the degree that is not online, requires traveling, and are quite expensive, which can be come a great academic, financial, and scheduling challenge of which there is no assistance with. It is the reason why I am transferring schools right in the middle of my graduate degree. There is also very little to no assistance when I am having difficulty with a challenging course. Instructors do not respond in a timely or helpful manner.

It is definitely a rigorous program, but the workload is definitely manageable for those with a full-time career. The advisors are extremely helpful and considerate. If there is ever any issue they get back to you within 24 hours.

Degree: Public Administration
Graduation Year: 2015

The pro of this program is it's relevancy to the administration of public service. I do not believe that there are any cons because the components of this program can be applied to any career field.

Degree: Information Technology
Graduation Year: 2016

This graduate school is very good as it is online. I get tuition free at state schools in CT. However, there is no program like the one at Capella U in the local area. So online affords me the opportunity to get the degree I am looking for in the Phd arena. This program is demanding as you need to take two courses at once for 10 weeks. It's hard when you have two papers needing to be uploaded by the course deadline at the same time. But it is doable.

The quality of the instruction and educational materials utilized by Capella is excellent. The professors are accessible and have decades of experience in their fields to draw upon to provide the best possible guidance for a young professional. The course work is rigorous and requires a great personal dedication to maintain the discipline needed to do graduate quality work in a mostly independent manner. The draw back is that there are very limited opportunities for socialization since most of the work in online and the in person courses are primarily dedicated to learning with limited time for socialization. In spite of this I would not trade my experience with Capella for any traditional educational experience.

The graduate program at Capella is very well laid out by your advisor in terms of classes needed. You need to take ahold of your plan and stay on top. I really enjoy the technical support and how the Instructors help with any questions. The classes are set up with no tests, you have on -line questions to post about the book or topic. The time frame given is appropriate! The con about the on-line program is that the school is in a different time zone and when given instructions to post by mid-night, it's their time zone. So in California you need to post by 10pm. No budging for the west coast on time. I was also hoping for more time to complete asignments. I get two hours less.
