Student & Graduate Reviews

Degree: Counseling
Graduation Year: 2017

I am an online student so transportation, surrounding area, and campus safety do not apply to me. The pros of my programs is that although the workload is a lot 15-30 hours per week it is challenging and you really learn your profession. Later on in your learning process you attend a 6 day Colloquium one for track 1 before the first internship requirements and then a second Colloquium for the second half of the internship prior to graduation and licensure. The cons are that they do not have a weekly seminar where there is interaction in a virtual classroom setting with the Professor. However, the Professors give a great deal of feedback on discussion boards and papers, and are always available for questions and comments.

Capella University is a great school with classes that are pertinent to current business standards. They focus on teaching students how business models apply to everyday wroking solutions and not just rote memory of concepts. The downsides are that their classroom setup is a little stiff restriciting an ease of conversation across discusions thread. Also, the way thier financial aid for MBA students has a interesting setup that was hard to follow at first but the staff is more that willing to assist and is very helpful. I have looked at many schools and Capella came at a great value.

Degree: Public Administration
Graduation Year: 2015

The pros to Capella are I can work on my own schedule, and the support of the administration. The con to taking courses online is no study group.

Degree: Information Technology
Graduation Year: 2015

The Pros is I can take a class with working full time and having a 3 year old and a 1 year old. Online classes is a great way to learn from other classmates. The con is trying to find time to get the workload done

Degree: Healthcare Management
Graduation Year: 2015

The courses for the doctoral level are very in-depth. There is a lot of reading and research. You get case studies and work with peers through a virtual meeting room to get the in person experience and everyone has a role to play on the team. The instructors are always providing feedback on how to improve whether its the APA format, referencing, or plagiarism. The only downside I think is mentoring with a person that is working in the field already. You pretty much have to find one on your own whether at your current work facility or volunteering.

Degree: Nursing
Graduation Year: 2016

I feel the graduate program will be as beneficial to my continued learning and career success as was the bachelor's program.

Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2013

Capella is an amazing university. I attend online, but I am still provided with campus safety reports, invitations to attend campus-based activities, and I have access to the alumni association, professors, administration, and every support service available, including a career center. The programs are rigorously monitored in order to ensure positive learner outcomes, and support services are available every step of the way, to help learners succeed. I am very proud of the education I have received from Capella University and I'd recommend them to anyone who is seeking to further their education.

Degree: Public Administration
Graduation Year: 2014

After attending school at a brick and mortar institution, I can say that the courses at Capella were on par with a typical college and for the most part more difficult. The challenge was not met with anything but extraordinary professors who were more than willing to assist in any way possible, much more than I experienced at my campus university. I am currently looking at a doctoral program through Capella because of the success and challenge I found in their MPA program.

Degree: Business
Graduation Year: 2015

The graduate program is great, however financial planning was not complete and now I find myself in hardship. I feel that a more careful evaluation of my student loan situation should have been completed to assure that I wouldn't be now through course work but without help for disssertation.
