Capella University offers a great opportunity for a working professional like me to complete and advanced degree program while working fulltime. I really like the open enrollment plan, which allows you to start at various times/ terms during the academic year.

Pros: High quality classes and instructors. Cons: Financial aid is tricky and must be watched carefully as the business office is not as helpful as one would be led to believe.

Graduation Year: 2016

Capella provides quality instruction with professors who are accessible and engaging. There is a definite interest in the student learning the various concepts discussed. I honestly do not have any cons about the program as of yet. The only con would be my ability to adjust to an online protocol.

The pros of this doctorate program are; material, work load, corse resource and SOME exceptional professors. The cons are: the lack of depth of some of the corsework, unprepared and unavailable professors, expensive course costs and lack of fellowship/scholarship & institutional financial aid.

Degree: Human Services
Graduation Year: 2014

My Graduate Program has been a great experience. I can work at my leisure in the confines of my own home. I do regret not having face to face contact with my professors when there is a problem that I cannot resolve.

Degree: Curriculum & Instruction
Graduation Year: 2014

Capella University's online program allowed me, as a busy teacher, mother, and wife, to get the my education at my own pace while still providing encouragement and support that render success. I loved the fast response of tech support, accessibility to advisors, and the diversity of the course room. The only con I experienced was during the dissertation process of it taking so long to get my topic approved when I could have gotten help to come up with a topic. Because of it taken so long to get topic approval, I ran out of my financial aid.

The academic support at Capella is phenomenal however the graduate learner is pretty much on their own financially. There is room for improvement in this area at Capella.

Degree: Criminal Justice

Good program, however, some courses are very demanding for non-traditional students. Appreciated comments from professors as comments helped and guided me towards my degree.

Degree: Human Services
Graduation Year: 2014

Pros - extensive and intense classwork, worthy and informative learning activities and discussion questions. Cons - Childlike academic advisors/some instructors assume or inaccurately quess cultural background and race even thou classes are online/Female instructors have control issues, very hard to give praise and tend to be racially aggressive and critical/Out of the three women I've had two have been disengaging or racially distant.
