Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2016

March 30, 2013 Capella University is an awesome academic school. Although my program is online, it requires spending time with the reading, discussion post, and assignments. The use of technology by the university is cutting edge. It is not often one finds away to conduct psychology experiments in their home. This is accomplished by software specialized for individual use. As it concerns the academic demand, it is rigorous. Clearly, the university does not give away Psychology Doctorates. My only complaint, it is difficult to form relationship for me as I do not enjoy computer networking. As a result, I have not been able to maintain significant friendships with my classmates. Also, my writing is not as good as it was during my Masters program due to my focus regarding discussion posts. My aim is to get them done in a timely manner. However, on the assignments I spend more time as they require extra attention to detail.

Degree: Nursing
Graduation Year: 2016

I have been pleased with my experience at Capella University. It is 100% online which allows for flexibility; however there are opportunities to engage with the faculty and staff. And I do like have the Doctoral programs have the residencies. This was one of the deciding factors for me.

Degree: Counseling
Graduation Year: 2016

I am enjoying Capella so far because it's a great value for a quality education. I love the online program so far and don't feel isolated or like I'm missing anything by not physically being on campus. It's nice not to have to go to a building for classes and study on my time, not a university scheduled time. Plus, our advisors and instructors are always available and more than happy to answer any questions we have.

Degree: Social Work
Graduation Year: 2015

As an online program, Capella University has been the best I have found. They are one of just a few online universities offering a Doctorate of Social Work Program. All of the classes I have taken so far have been challenging and beneficial. The online classroom environment is easy to use, effective, and conducive to learning. The school's main website has all the links to the university I need from Financial Aid to the Library. The University library is fantastic, and provides search results just as good as any other academic search engine. The financial aid department has been very helpful, always accessible, and very friendly. Many of the students and clubs on campus have FaceBook pages.

Degree: Liberal Studies
Graduation Year: 2014

I love going to school at Capella. The registration process is very painless compared to my jr college I attended. The teachers are great and very helpful if you don't understand the subject matter. The courses make it easy to work full time and go to school part time and have just the right amount of workload.

Degree: Communications

Capella is very committed to helping learners pursue his or her goals. The option of having staff 24 hours a day is a great asset. Yet, one of the minuses is the website is very cumbersome to navigate.

The required courses are relevant to my desired major. More opportunities to explore different career options in a specific field would be helpful.

Degree: Counseling
Graduation Year: 2015

I am truly enjoying my experience as a grad student at Capella. They challenge you academically and give you the tools you need to be a successful professional in your field of study. The tech support is also very good. They help you every step of the way when there are difficulties with the school operating system and your personal computer. I have yet to encounter a tech problem they haven't been able to help me with (there haven't been many). I would recommend their counseling program to anyone who is interested. If there was a con I would say the lack of personal interaction. We do get the opportunity at the colloquias in cities around the country. But it would be nice to maybe do a video chat once a week. But with people's busy schedule, this may be difficult. After all, that is one of the main reasons we are taking courses online in the first place.

Degree: Criminal Justice
Graduation Year: 2014

The Public Service Leadership (Criminology) PhD program is awesome. All my professors have been good, and I have never ever had to have a TA. The education is same quality as Boston University, except better, because I never had a TA. The technology is good, the library is great, the librarians are very helpful, and dissertation and disability support are great. Course schedules accommodate everyone's work schedule because classes are asynchronous. Best of all, everyone, who has the prerequisite degree/experience is accepted, so politics do not enter into the admissions process or anything else. Some classes are harder than others, and there is a lot of hard work required for all of them. However, what you put into a class determines what you get of a class. Every single class I have had has provided me with practical knowledge that I have applied at my job. The best word to describe Capella is AWESOME!
