Capella has some excellent faculty. However, as with any institution there are those who are less than stellar. Capella frequently changes program requirements. It almost feels like they are purposely extending the time to complete the program to get more money.

Do not look at the "overall" as this is a calculated number... As an online program several of the ratable categories do not exist for an online program with minimal "campus" experience. The residential colloquia have been revised since I began with the intent of moving learners more quickly through the dissertation process. I found the academic demands of the program on a par with another Research 1 institution and rigorous enough to feel competent to compare my preparation with any other PhD. Capella is a well run, academic institution with a new modern model, and should not be lumped with other for profits. This is not a diploma mill.

My program is not inexpensive, however it its worth the cost for the extensive education criteria that I will be receiving.

This school is great. I really enjoy the interactions that I have had with the faculty and other students. The classes are challenging, but not to the extent that they are impossible to understand. If there is ever a problem, I know that I can go to my professor or academic advising team and the problem will be resolved quickly.

Pros: Capella has excellent staffing for the doctoral program Cons: Trying to get through the PhD dissertation program is frustrating. Capella's protocol seems to change often forcing students to make several changes to their dissertation. This increases the time to complete the project, and ultimately adds tuition cost, forcing the student to obtain additional funding. At this point I am ABD if I can't get additional funding. I am not satisfied with their dissertation process!

Overall the program is very good however it is expensive but the financial aid office is very good at assisting you as long as you turn in your FAFSA data in on a timely basis.

Capella provides a dynamic program including courses and professors. The online courses are convient without comprimising on the educational value. The major con of the school is the lack of respect and crediability it receives for licensure.

The staff and instructors have been extremely supportive of helping my cohort achieve our educational goals. They challenge us to be better. They provide constant feedback. It is refreshing to know that there are educators that stand by their educational commitments.

The catch with any graduate program, particularly one online, is that you get out what you put in. This school's library access is what finally tipped the scale in its favor. They didn't exactly hound me when I was shopping around, which was nice in that I wasn't constantly getting phone calls, but I did actually have questions for them.
