"Carlow University is a small, liberal arts college in Pittsburgh, Pa. As a graduate student alumni, I was very happy with my experience there. The majority of graduate classes are predominantly female, class sizes are small and the professors knowledgeable, caring and approachable. They provided course times that fit very well into my work schedule which was of upmost importance to me. The school is located in Oakland where the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon also are. If you are an undergraduate, there are plenty of opportunities to get out and about in the city and meet other college students."

"I attended Carlow University and absolutely loved it. I ended up studying abroad and learned some irreplaceable global knowledge. The degree I earned from Carlow has helped me greatly in my job searches as well as in life. It was very diverse and eclectic."

"The pro's of Carlow's MS in Professional Counseling are it's small classroom size and flexibility of class hours. Carlow University and it's staff go out of their way to help their graduate students with academic planning, financial aide, and finding employment. The con's are a smaller campus and higher tuition rate."

"Carlow was an excellent school for academic purposes. It allowed me to get the most from my classes and professors. I was able to graduate with three different certifications. That being said, it lacked social activities and experiences."

"Carlow is a great place to go to feel like your getting a personal education instead of being lost in the lecture hall among a sea of students."

"Carlow has a rich tradition of excellence with a warm, friendly atmosphere. The doctoral program is perfect for scholar-clinical practitioners. Superior quality of education with phenomenal faculty. Exceptional challenge-and the open, inclusive cohorts and experienced faculty make the whole Carlow experience the best in Pittsburgh! No 25-year old teachers who fill in for real professors and no revolving door turnover among faculty. Most brilliant people I've ever met. I love Carlow!"

"I enjoy how accessable and inclusive the professors are at Carlow. Every theoretical and philosophical viewpoint is considered and allowed to be used and debated to create well rounded students who are capable and effective clinicians. I feel very supported by Carlow's professors and by the school. I highly recommend Carlow!"

"The best things about the Early Childhood Education program at Carlow University is the quality of support from the community of learners and faculty and the interesting, thought-provoking and relevant curriculum. I came away with a degree in which I fully believe prepared me to make a positive difference in the world. A big con of my graduate program was a lack of technological availability. There were computer labs, but some of the newer classroom technologies (such as Smartboards) were not available."

"The low-residency, MFA program for creative writing is an ideal program. The mentors and speakers during the twice yearly residencies are highly knowledgeable and helpful. The one-on-one mentor aspect of the program provides a level of attention and learning that cannot be found in many situations. Because of the low-residency requirements I can work full time and still take care of my family while growing in a career that I love, gaining experience, and building a network that will last a lifetime. I would not be where I am as a writer were it not for this program."

"Carlow University has an outstanding reputation regionally, not only for their competitive Professional Counseling program, but for the university overall. The faculty in the Counseling program are not only P.h.D level professors, but are Licensed Professional Counselors, who have risen to the top of their field. The small class sizes allow for students and instructors to know each other on a professional and personal level, which allows for superior one-on-one instruction within the classroom."

"I am just starting this graduate program at Carlow, but I already love it. I attended Carlow for my Bachelors and enthusiastically wanted to return for my Masters. I like that you can go at your own pace to finish your graduate degree. I also like that Carlow's graduate courses are mostly during the evening, weekend, and online, so that I can still work regular shifts during the weekdays."
