"Central Michigan University has wonderful resources available to its students with the goal of helping us achieve our own goals. Wherever you turn someone is ready to help you. The school pride and community is like no other. Students go above and beyond what is expected of them in volunteer groups and it truly is a great community. The programs here are very specific and there are many academic advisers that help with the process if it becomes confusing. I really enjoy my time at CMU because it has opened up many horizons for me, creating opportunities I didn't know existed. I would recommend CMU to future students solely on the academic achievements you can accomplish with the help of CMU's staff. It's been the best few years of my life because now I can look forward to a bright future."

"The instructors are very involved and easy to approach with any issue. The down side to this program is that there are very few classes offered in the summer months for anyone who might be interested in complete the program quickly."

"Small pool of financial aid available. Some disconnect between learning and real life applications. No help in actual job placement or becoming differentiated between other candidates."

"Great program that offers excellent financial support. Is up and coming in its transnational history program. Overcoming the lack of name recognition makes it challenging to find academic jobs post graduation."

"I feel Economics is a very good course because obviously we need good economists to run each economy in the world but the abstractness of the course does not make it easier to study at all."

"Pros include: almost every student accepted into the program receives an assistantship, either half-time or full-time, and continues to receive an assistantship for each year enrolled. Also, our secretary is awesome and the administration is very supportive and helpful, always. Graduate Student Union is wonderful. Cons include: department sometimes lacks organization or knowledge of the details of some program requirements. Not always prompt to give assistantship assignments -- but you still get your tuition waiver and paychecks either way!"

"To be quite honest, I love my program. It is geared towards working adults. My classes meet every other weekend for the duration of the program. With that being said, that doesn't make the program any less rigorous. It's challenging, but it's manageable. The faculty are great and are experts in their field, I truly feel like I'm getting quality instruction and great feedback from my classmates. I think the program has made me more knowledgeable in my field and I can see the difference in my day to day work life. I highly recommend this program!"

  • Degree: Physical Therapy
"The physical therapy program at CMU is very progressive and is always looking for ways to improve their curriculum and further the education of more potential physical therapy students. The majority of the faculty is committed to the students and their learning experience. There is a nice selection of up to date equipment in the lab and the classrooms. There are many opportunities for learning outside the classroom like the free clinic where you can volunteer your time. The workload for the program is definitely a little too heavy sometimes. It seems like there is too much emphasis on busy work for this level of schooling. A few of the faculty members are unpleasant and difficult to get along with. Campus safety is also a concern for me because of recent criminal events on campus and the surrounding area."

"The pros of my graduate program is the ability to take online or on campus courses. The cons are not having the same access to main campus resources as the other students who are located in Michigan."

"The global campus is great. I would suggest looking up your professors on rate my professor. com to see reviews. Other than that if you are willing to give up 1 night a week to finish school its worth it"

"The cons for the program so far is that it is an extremely competitive program and hard to even get accepted into it. The communication amongst the staff and faculty seems to be a little muffled because they are behind on getting important information to us. The technology is advanced but not as advanced as other schools have for their PA program. It is also an extremely expensive program. The pros is that regardless of the cons the education will be invaluable for my career as a PA. The faculty and staff are available to the students if they are struggling. The campus is beautiful and the building the program is in, is fairly newer."
