Degree: Veterinary Science
Graduation Year: 2015

As one of the highest ranking veterinary schools and microbiology departments in the country, I am truly honored to be a Ph.D student in this college. My education and research experience is second to none, and will more than prepare me for my future as a wildlife disease specialist. Members of my cohort have done extremely well in post-graduate work, and I fully expect the same prospects. Perhaps the only con for our field as of late is the lack of federal funding, which unfortunately increases the competitiveness for grants, which can cause some tension amongst the faculty. However, overall my experience thus far has been second to none, and being located in the most beautiful region of the country is just an additional bonus!

Degree: Biomedical Sciences
Graduation Year: 2014

I really appreciate my advisors in this program. They are very helpful, supportive, and encourage me to learn about and become passionate about my research. While signing up for my seminar and my independent study credits was still a bit confusing, overall I am very grateful to be in this program and think that it will prepare me well for my future goals.

Degree: Health Sciences
Graduation Year: 2011

I completed a Master of Science and am currently enrolled in a PhD program at CSU. The cost of graduate school at CSU is competitive and there are several colleges that are well known both nationally and internationally. The quality of instruction was top notch and I love my advisor! I think grad school at CSU is a great value and I would highly recommend coming to school here.

The DVM program at CSU is truly a phenomenal experience, but it is a very pricey one too. I think the only way to justify going to vet school at all is if it is truly your calling. If you have any doubt about that then take some extra time before committing to the cost and the program. IF becoming a vet is truly your passion, then you won't be sorry you went to CSU. The facilities are great and are constantly being updated, the instructors are top notch, and Fort Collins is an amazing place to live - there is tons to do and the cost of living is reasonable.

Colorado State University has offered a fantastic experience for me so far! The professors are incredible researchers and are experts in their topic areas. When you go to class, you are definitely getting your money's worth. I have also noticed how committed these professors are to student success. Even those who are not formally advising my academic career are willing to go the extra mile to ensure that I will get exactly what I need out of my education, whether I know I need it or not! Overall an outstanding school. The Fort Collins area is beautiful and there is always something going on around town. It is a very safe city, so I never worry too much when going out with friends at night. The only thing that would make Fort Collins better was if it was a little closer to some bigger city areas like Denver or Boulder - it's about an hour drive to get anywhere worth going outside of Fort Collins, so it's not too bad. I have to say that I love this city and my school, and I would highly recommend both to anyone looking for a great place to live or a great education!

This is a program designed for people working in the field as well as those who want to go in to Adult Education and Training. I feel like the program manages to create a good balance of school to work obligations!
