“
Covenant College has developed a rigorous, biblically based curriculum that, through the tireless work of professors, hones students' strengths, identifies individual weaknesses, and supports graduate students in course work while acknowledging the current professional careers and time restraints of their students. The program is somewhat of a hybrid where students attend on-campus courses during the summer for 3 weeks and complete both pre-campus and post-campus assignments for each of three years. This works best for a traditional academic schedule and is unlike the majority of graduate level programs. Though the program is primarily focused on individuals seeking employment within the private school sector, professors willingly adapt their courses for students from all different backgrounds and interests including educators from public and international schools. The Educational Leadership program is one of two tracks toward a Masters in Education; the other being Integrated Curriculum and Instruction. As an alum of the Educational Leadership track there are significant financial breaks if I were to attend the other track. This program is not only academically rigorous, but also helps grow the individual as a whole. Cohorts tend to become very close, each individual sharing his/her own experience and building each other up. It truly becomes a Professional Learning Community that transcends state, national, and even international boundaries. Perhaps the best review I can give is: I attended Covenant as an undergraduate, then returned as a graduate student. I plan to join the other track in the future. If a doctorate program existed, I would likely join that too.
