Degree: Nursing
Graduation Year: 2017

The online nursing degree program at ECU is well ranked. Since it is associated with a brick and mortar school I also have access to their libraries. The quality of the classes varies by instructor, but is overall very good.

Degree: Nursing

I am in the nurse anesthesia program that accepts 12 students per class. It is an excellent program with an excellent director.

Degree: Liberal Studies
Graduation Year: 2016

The biggest pro is that there are only a handful of students on campus in the program, meaning that there's more one-on-one time with the professors. Overall, the school has a great environment! The only con is that there's not much to do in Greenville, but then again, that could be a good thing in terms of getting more studying done.

Degree: Software Engineering
Graduation Year: 2016

A great graduate program, very challenging and make you prepared for the software engineering field. ECU is one of few schools that offers a graduate program specializing in Software Engineering which is a very in demand field right now. Great instruction on design processes and use of different programing languages. I would recommend this strongly to anyone interested in the field.

Degree: Special Education
Graduation Year: 2016

As a graduate student at East Carolina, I have valued all the knowledge that I have obtained so far. My professors are wonderful, they are easily accessible and create lessons that are relevant to my field in education. Most of the things I have learned I have been able to apply in my job as a special education teacher. I am currently an online student but I live near the campus. I do not spend that much time on the campus, but it is lovely and those that I know who have lived on campus have enjoyed it. The surrounding area is not at nice, the downtown area is more for younger students then the older population. I enjoy the sport events of ECU, it does feel likes a community.

Degree: MBA
Graduation Year: 2016

The benefits of ECU's MBA program is that they are flexible in working with you. For instance, if you need to take a break for a semester, it will not hinder you in any way. The costs comparable to other online universities is great. It's very affordable. The cons is that the tests needs to be proctored, so it is difficult to work a full-time job and pursue your MBA.

Degree: Health Sciences
Graduation Year: 2016

Pros: East Carolina University (ECU) is very affordable compared to other North Carolina public universities. They even have scholarships for distance education students which still surprises me till today. I attended one university's information session few years back and inquired about scholarships for distance education students. The response was negative. In ECU, it's not like that. That gives me peace of mind that I can be on scholarship and study as much as I could without owing any money. That really means a lot to me. Cons: I wish ECU was in Raleigh!

This program I believe will help me achieve huge things in my future. Teachers reply quickly on email which is the primary use of communication for me as an online student.

School keeps you very busy. The thing I like best is that the textbooks used have been easy to understand.
