The online Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) is a flexible program with very helpful advisers to help students maximize their course load in a way that works for them. The program can be completed in as little as 2 years, with the option to extend the completion period if desired. While they recommend certain courses to be taken concurrently, students may opt to simply take one course at a time on a part-time basis for financial reasons or otherwise. Professors are generally very responsive and easy to contact, and the Canvas class portal is fairly intuitive. In the beginning of the program, certain expectations for classwork were unclear, but once again, professors are very responsive to any questions students ask. Students are provided with a tutorial on how to use the EMU online library to find sources, where the best business sources are located, and how to cite properly in the business school. As of 2015, this program was one of only four online IMC programs in the United States. For working professionals who have families, hobbies, and other responsibilities, attending class on-campus may not be easy. The online degree from an accredited business school is invaluable. Most classes do require textbooks which can be obtained via Amazon textbook rentals or any other textbook resource, but there are some courses where all the content is provided electronically free of charge. Much of the work is done in groups, though some classes emphasize a more individual approach. Students achieving a high GPA will receive invitations to honors societies and programs to allow them to further network with those at the university.

Degree: Nursing
Graduation Year: 2018

I love Eastern Michigan University (EMU). I went here for Bachelors of Nursing and now I am back for my Master's. I believe they are informative and helpful in aiding me for educational/professional transitioning. The classes are small in size which helps with easy one on one time if needed. T

Graduation Year: 2017

The program is challenging and rewarding. The students are exceptional with the assistance we give each other. However, the amount of sharing is totally due to the engagement of the professors. They are engaged, helpful and encouraging. As a non-traditional student, coming back to school after 25 years, I was nervous and did not know what to expect. It was more difficult than I expected but also more rewarding. The availability of resources is phenomenal and the access to the electronic library made research straight forward and saved valuable time. I recommend this program to any student desiring to go into the quality management field.

My graduate program is extensive and will train me well. However, the prevalent shortcoming is communication. I have not been told as much as I should have and that is resulting in discontinuity.

As an online student, I've been enrolled in several different universities. Some deliver the curriculum quite poorly, but EMU does a great job making the learning atmosphere as in-person as possible with easy access to professors and staff.
