"I was recruited from a transfer portal to play football for Emory and Henry by a coach /recruiter who said they were going D2 , would be giving scholarships, and he could see me being the backup running back. It sounds good, but don’t believe anything this school tells you. It’s a money grab! They recruited me and then I didn’t even dress out.I had never heard of Emory and Henry-would never have gone there had they not pursued me.Other players got fed the same line. Even a starter said he asked himself every day why he ever went there because the school was so bad. The food is horrible, but on campus students have to get a food plan. Campus socials-approx 20/people. I was assigned a house on campus with athletes that was spider infested w paint peeling everywhere, but it was better than the rundown dorms. Forget rest- a train comes in front of the campus several times a day and night. I wouldn’t go back even if I were starting. It was that bad. Virginia has better colleges."

"Small school with nice faculty, though the sciences are fairly underfunded."

"Coming from Richmond, VA and going to such a rural college was a little rough at first. The transition took me some time. However, I quickly fell in love with Emory & Henry because of it's amazing sense of community. You will never find a more supportive campus of people. You quickly get to know everybody on campus, including your professors and all of the staff. This truly is an amazing place where you will grow more than you can imagine and learn essential skills to succeed in life. Your education will be well-rounded and very "liberal-arts" at EHC, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. It allowed me to flourish in my majors as well as gain advantageous aptitude that will help me in anything and everything I end up doing after Emory & Henry. Whether your goals are to go on to graduate school, a profession directly related to your degree, or even something completely unrelated to your specific studies, you will gain all of the necessary expertise to thrive in the modern world. I highly recommend EHC to anyone who would benefit from this amazing community of people."

"Emory & Henry is a beautiful, tight knit community, rather than just a campus. The Mathematics and Education departments of E&H are excellent, challenging, and filled with knowledgeable professors who really invest in your education."

"Emory and Henry is an absolutely beautiful place. It is THE picturesque college that you dream about when watching movies about college. There are some flaws, but overall I enjoyed my experience."

"I loved Emory & Henry. The Psychology department was always more than helpful, and I truly feel as though I am better prepared for graduate school. The small class size and one-on-one attention that I received was really beneficial to my education as well as my growth as a young adult. I highly recommend Emory. The only downfall is that Emory & Henry is very expensive. There are plenty of scholarships and grants available, but I feel as though they aren't advertised very well. I didn't know about a lot of them until my senior year. I worked part-time most of my time there while also working through the Work-Study program."
