"My experience at Fairfield University was a unique one, that truly helped to shape me into the person and professional I am today. I learned and grew so much from the professors who were absolutely brilliant, caring, and for the majority of them, exuded the Jesuit values that lie as the foundation of Fairfield University. The Psychology department, specifically, provided a competitive curriculum that challenged me and allowed me to learn more than I could have imagined possible in a semester's time. I would encourage Psychology students who are interested in graduate school in the field, to seek out research opportunities offered by the faculty members, as well as opportunities outside of Fairfield University. I would recommend this school to anyone!"

"There are many professions that do not require the heart of the professional; nursing is not one of these careers. Being a nurse is a commitment to oneself, the multi-disciplinary team and the community to provide excellent patient outcomes. A nurse invests time, talent, and energy into the art and science of nursing, with the ultimate goal of promoting health in all individuals. A quick mind, strong body, and compassionate heart are innate qualities of a devoted and caring nurse. If this is what your goal is, I highly recommend attending FAU. Although I am young in years, I have overcome obstacles in my life that have authenticated my passion and my calling for nursing. As a young child, I lost my mother to drug addiction and my father to cancer and have endured the impact these adversities have made on me and my family. The Christine E. Lynne College of Nursing supported my hardships and I truly felt that my professors cared. In a society where both natural and accidental causes claim the lives of thousands of people each and every day, I can offer raw empathy and education to promote health in the community. This is because of the education I received at FAU. I am committed to using the knowledge I gained while in this program to become a leader that is the voice of those who cannot be heard within the community and globally. I appreciate your consideration for this scholarship. Sincerely, Kareli A. Lugo, RN, BSN"

"I attended Fairfield University for my undergraduate and am starting my MSN degree in Family Nursing (NP program). Something that I love about Fairfield is the fact that they provide a curriculum that is challenging but also mindful of students who work full-time and have families. The teachers are professional, are always willing to help and go above and beyond to help you achieve your professional goals."

"Fairfield University has successfully prepared me to work in the healthcare field. Being educated in both the sciences and the healthcare industry has made me a well rounded candidate for many opportunities. Not limited to medical professions, I am ready and motivated to apply myself in any aspect to make a difference. Wonderful choice of school!"

"Fairfield University is a fantastic school for people who are very driven and are academically inclined. I have great academic support from the professors and the classes are academically and intellectually challenging. I think that I received a far better education here than in my undergraduate school. I feel that the classes are provided me a strong foundation for my career in teaching. I have met many like minded teachers in my program and the school fosters strong relationships between the members of their graduate programs. It has allowed me to network with people from other districts and exchange ideas on classroom instruction and curriculum."

"Fairfield University has many connections within its surrounding areas. Students graduating with a Master's degree in teaching are highly respected in nearby school systems. The faculty prepares you as much as possible for any challenges you will face in the future. However, the students enrolled in the graduate programs are very homogeneous. Plus, the town of Fairfield is extremely expensive to live in, especially for current students who may or may not have a source of income while continuing their studies."

"My program is filled with faculty that guide and help you to succeed in the program. They challenge you to think differently and are open to tough challenging discussions. I think the school should provide better ways for graduate students to pay for school such as scholarships, grants instead of relying on just loans."

"What I love about my program, is the faculty are dedicated in helping students succeed in all of their courses. You can go to them and talk about anything you are going through and they help you with the best of their abilities. The only con would be to provide more aid like scholarships and grants then just having to take out loans."

"Small classes, great professors. Interesting courses, however, not always offered when you need them to be. Great decision overall."
