Degree: Architecture
Graduation Year: 2017

I did the 5 year accelerated master program. Looking back, I wish I would've done the 6 year program in order to take advantage of all the activities the school had to offer. The program is very intense and at times it will challenge your passion for this career. But if i could go back in time, I wouldn't have picked another school.

Degree: Social Work
Graduation Year: 2017

Florida International University is a great institution that provides tremendous amounts of opportunities for their students, faculty, and staff. I received my MSW this year and during my time there I have had an internship relative to my degree. The Social Work Department has friendly staff that will help guide you on the right path to graduation. The professors are beyond knowledgeable in their class topics which made learning enjoyable. I am extremely satisfied with the network of friends and colleagues I have accumulated over the time I was enrolled at FIU. I am even looking forward to applying for their PhD program in the near future. Go Panthers !

Degree: Biomedical Sciences
Graduation Year: 2017

As a graduate student studying biological sciences at Florida International University's Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine( HWCOM) I can attest that the curriculum truly prepares you for a career in the health sciences. The program is currently transitioning from a certificate program to a master's program. It currently guarantees the students in the program a medical school interview at HWCOM as long as students enrolled in the program maintain a 3.7 GPA throughout the duration of the program. It also guarantees acceptance into HWCOM if the student was previously on the waitlist at HWCOM. The program parallels year one medical curriculum and it is difficult. During the program students are enrolled in Medical Biochemistry and Cellular Biology, Medical Molecular Biology, Medical Microbiology and Immunology, Medical Histology and Pathology, Medical Physiology, Medical Genetics, and Professional Skills in Medicine. Students take NBME finals for each of the courses they take, except the Professional Skills course. These courses and this exposure to NBME questions prepare students to succeed in HWCOM and other medical schools, as well as prepares students for the board examinations. The program currently does not have as many financial opportunities, but this will probably change soon since this was only the first year of the program. I would recommend that students flashcard from PowerPoint for courses like histology and microbiology. For other classes, I would recommend using concept maps, especially for biochemistry and physiology. In terms of living in Miami the weather is great and so is the nightlife. Another great aspect of living in Miami, is the large diversity of the general population and of the student body! On the other hand, crime is a little higher since it is a big city, but I have never encountered problems and I have lived here my entire life. Overall, it is a great program and I would recommend it.

Degree: International Business
Graduation Year: 2014

Great place to study International Business. The faculty was well prepared and students come from all over the world. I loved the seminar away from the school, before school started. We all had a great time and a chance to meet the rest of the students and teachers and administrators. Internships and jobs are not something the school will help you with. Therefore, you must make sure you do your homework before you come here if you do not have a job already.

Degree: Pre-Medicine
Graduation Year: 2016

At Florida International University I had the pleasure of not only completing my bachelor's degree but also interacted with many international students. I made friends from all parts of the world and became more well rounded than I would have if I would have attended another institution. Throughout my years here, I completed my bachelor's in sociology/anthropology while at the same time doing the pre-pharmacy requirements. I really appreciate the experience and knowledge that I received from this university.

Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2015

Florida International University was such an excellent college to go to. When I first applied I was hesitant, but I am so glad I decided to enroll. It was close enough to home, but far enough for me to get the real college experience. Plus, who wouldn't want the opportunity to live in Miami?

Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2015

Florida International University (FIU) has been my home away from home all throughout my undergraduate years and will continue to be for the next 3 years in graduate school. They have always treated me like family and prepared me for my future as well as they could. For as much effort that I put into my degree, the professors, faculty and administration did the same. Although FIU has over 50,000 students, they always found a way to make you feel special. Most professors offered flexible visiting hours and fast and easy ways of getting in touch with them. Along with a great curriculum and an amazing work force behind it, the main campus at FIU is beautiful. Miami summer all year round with all state of the art facilities and buildings from medical buildings to law buildings and awesome restaurants and student environments. Also, the brand new recreation center is almost finished with remodels just in time for me to start my 3 year program (which I'm extremely excited about). All in all, FIU is an amazing place to learn and grow. FIU builds leaders and innovators for our future and I would definitely recommend attending this university to anyone interested in a great learning experience.

Degree: Accounting
Graduation Year: 2014

The Online Corporate MBA program at FIU has allowed me to continue my education while working and meeting my financial obligations. Each online course is easily accessible from wherever you go. The courses are detailed and thoroughly explained. As long as I kept all my work and time organized I was able to complete my work and projects on time. The group project section on the online portal is efficient. Collaborating other my classmates was easier than ever. This online course increased my organizational skills and productivity.

Degree: Health Sciences
Graduation Year: 2018

I am currently in my second semester of the Speech-language pathology Master's program at FIU. So far the the program has been amazing! The professors are very knowledgeable and show genuine interest in their students' success. Outside the classroom, FIU has prepared multiple opportunities to learn and gain experience in the field of speech pathology. I was especially interested in attending FIU because it has a unique "bilingual emphasis" prigram.
