Degree: Construction Management
Graduation Year: 2017

I think the graduate program at FIU is great because of the ability to work and go to school. Other universities don't have as many professional job options because they aren't in big cities. So getting real job experience and getting an education is much easier at FIU. The cons is that there isn't a lot of funding options for graduate students. While other schools to give grants to those who had a high GPA in undergrad.

Degree: Forensic Science
Graduation Year: 2016

Pros: The Professional Science Masters in Forensic Science Program has a lot of pros. The program is designed for people who are working full-time and pursuing a masters degree at the same time. The academic schedule is, therefore, very flexible. The professors involved in the program are knowledgable and dedicated to making your degree count. Since the program is mostly online, you can access and "attend" your classes from home, work, or anywhere with an internet connection. Online classes are immersive in a different way. Professors will usually respond to your emails and posts, some professors quicker than others. And they will work to try to personalize your education. Cons: You don't get the benefit of face-to-face interaction in a classroom, so any questions you have about the course content are not instantly answered. In order to have questions answered, you must post and wait for a reply from the professor. Sometimes information is not always updated from semester to semester on online modules since the content is traveling from professor to course designer to student. So there is sometimes a small lapse between when the professor submits changes to when the course designer uploads the changes.

Degree: Counseling
Graduation Year: 2017

Attending Graduate School as an International Student is not easy. It can be overwhelming, time consuming and leave you emotionally drained. FIU caters to all of the above and more, with its student centered approach and a diverse population we feel at home and at ease. It is very expensive but it's worth every penny. I would encourage any one who has the zeal, determination, and a strong back bone to come join the Panthers family.
