When most students apply to take online classes, they may think that it is going to be an easy A. That is not the case. I dont say this in order to scare you away from the program, but to assure you that you are getting what you paid for in a Georgetown education. You have access to highly intelligent and engaging instructors that care about your intellectual development, even if you never step inside of a classroom. I believe that I am getting a quality education and that I am not simply paying for a degree. If you choose Georgetown, be prepared to get an education that you will be proud of.

The best part about MSFS is the tight-knit community it creates. You become part of a "club" whose members comprise people in top positions at Government, Private Sector, and non-profit organizations. There's flexibility in the classes one can take and the teachers are all practitioners in their respective fields. Overall it is a great program and that's why it's been ranked #1 for several years.

Degree: Finance
Graduation Year: 2018

Great program for working professionals, since it is both part-time and online. The online format for the Finance Masters created by the Georgetown faculty is superior to any other online experience I have ever had. The classes are taught live each week by a professor and professors and TA's are available for office hours.

Degree: Sports Management
Graduation Year: 2016

Georgetown was such a great school. They provided me with so many networking opportunities to get my sports career started. Their Sports Industry Management program is one of the best in the country. They have really small class sizes so the teachers can get to know you better.

Degree: Biology
Graduation Year: 2013

The program was rigorous and provided a solid foundation in molecular biology and biochemistry; there was also opportunity to conduct research, volunteer and get involved in extra-curricular activities. Be prepared to take out heavy loans as financial services will not give much aid.

Degree: Biomedical Sciences
Graduation Year: 2017

The Georgetown University MS program in Bio-informatics is great if you want to enter into a public sector government position in research or wish to build the theoretical or programmatic foundation to pursue higher degrees. The program's main focus is the internship component, which is usually done on or around the Lombardi Cancer Center near the Medical Campus. I would have liked a greater focus on algorithm or pipeline development, but the program does a good job providing a wide view of the discipline that student can later narrow down to their specific interest during the internship. The central position in DC provides various opportunities. Pros: Broad training in Bioinformatics, Can finish program in a year, Proximity to good opportunities Cons:Lacking a bit on the computational/programmatic side, Not tied to many private industry opportunities, Expensive

Degree: Management
Graduation Year: 2019

The MA in Development, Management and Policy is a comprehensive program and takes place in Buenos Aires. The professors are hands-on, helpful and attentive. The fellow students are engaging and also very helpful. I highly recommend this program to other students of public policy, international relations, political science, Latin American studies, or development. Spanish ability is definitely a must!
