A great interdisciplinary program that draws on non-profit management and cultural studies. Not the most affordable, but worth every moment here.

Degree: Creative Writing
Graduation Year: 2017

Enrolling in Goucher College's Creative Nonfiction Program is one of the best decisions I ever made. At every level, it's what I wanted in a quality, low-residency program. Lucky, lucky me!

Degree: Liberal Arts

The MFA in Creative Nonfiction is a challenging, creative program that brings out the very best in writers and thinkers. There is a fabulous ratio of mentors to students (5 to 1), and the feedback and response to your work is irreplaceable. I find the low-residency format to be both supportive for face-to face contact and for individual learning opportunities. A great program all around.

Every teacher I've had at Goucher so far has been supportive and available. The material has been novel, relevant, and suitably challenging. Campus is quiet, but for grad school, that works for me.

There could be more done to promote a greater sense of community and to provide more opportunities such as graduate funding, internships, employment, and field school for those specifically in the Master of Arts in Cultural Sustainability (MACS) program.

Degree: Teaching
Graduation Year: 2015

I feel that teachers in this program are really accessible, and understanding. Instructors help students balance school work with their lives. The program is also designed to ensure that no student spends more than a year and half to complete it. All the classes are geared toward facilitating certification. However, the program does not allow much flexibility. Students cannot take an elective in another graduate program, this program being the only one in the school. The program is not also as known as those of the neighboring universities, though of excellent quality.

Degree: Special Education
Graduation Year: 2015

The pro's of Goucher graduate program is that the staff goes above and beyond to meet the needs of students. The Con's are that there are not as many classes being offered year round and sometimes you may have to wait a semester or take the class at another college to get the credit.

There could be more effort made to connect graduate students with services like internships, employment, study abroad, and funding. However, I am very happy that I am attending graduate school here. The faculty are very helpful and I am very pleased to be on the cutting edge of new programs.
