I am really enjoying the courses because they are getting me ready to continue my education and be prepared for certification in teaching.

Degree: Public Health

The beauty of being apart of the Grand Canyon University Master's of Public Health online program is that I can go to school during the time that I have available and still be able to work. The coursework for each class is intense but manageable. All of the professors are helpful and respond right away, which is a big plus since I am not at campus to talk with them in person. A down side is that you do lose the personable feel that you get from a regular classroom, but Grand Canyon University works hard to combat that issue by requiring discussion questions and responses among the students as part of their curriculum. Overall I think this is a wonderful graduate program especially for individuals who are already working, have families, or those who cannot participate in a traditional master's program.

I love the flexibility of having an online program. Since I teach full time and am a mom of 4 children the flexibility is what I need. The instructors are always available and very knowledgeable. I am also able to contact staff at the school should I need further assistance. The only con to going to school online is that the interaction only happens while I am logged on so the momentum can be lost if I'm not logged in to class for a day or two.

Most of the prose for this graduate program come from the online availability. The cons are definitely the fact that when you need assistance -for anything- there is only one person that you can talk to. They are also a student and not always helpful.

Degree: Special Education
Graduation Year: 2017

I have loved going to Grand Canyon University Online for my MAED In Special needs Education. With being online I do not have to worry about travel or any of the things that go with Campus life. I do think the academic advisor and my professors have made an exceptional effort in helping to furnish my education with the utmost learning experiences, although the workload has me working every single moment I can when I am not working. But if you look t the simplicity of how hard a person works to get somewhere I am still at a high GPA of 4.0 and so thrilled to be working on my education that was put on hold by another university that closed. Grand Canyon is always there for my educational needs and even in a pinch of a second they take my call to help. Their advisors and tech support are so supportive in helping me get through the toughness of my education and my struggles in life. Although I can not say anything about campus life, the online program is a great experience. A

The pros of pursuing this graduate program is to make me a better leader and to assist me in further developing my employees. Being prior military, I am a firm believer in duty and honor and I feel it is my passion to give back. The cons of this program is, of course, the cost of such a program.

I thoroughly enjoy having a diverse group of students to communicate with in our online discussion boards. Students graduated with their undergraduate degree from different schools around the country so they are bringing a new perspective into the subject. The university is conveniently located in the downtown area near the light rail system and on bus routes which makes shopping and getting out easily accessible for students without transportation. My enrollment advisor has been very helpful throughout the process of registering and outlining the expectations for the rigorous coursework in a graduate level learning environment. He has been completely honest and upfront regarding the pricing, course requirements and the program. I am a new student at the University so I am not sure what the workload will be, so far it has been exactly what I expected. I have visited the ground campus and find that it generously accommodates a social life for students with a bowling alley on the campus, eateries, ping-pong and pool tables, multiple swimming pools and a host of social events on weekends. The online campus also encourages socialization with a community board for students to connect with each other.

GCU offers a flexible online schedule that is great for working adults. However the educational requirements I feel are not challenging enough and thus do not prepare students enough for what they need for licensing.

I love my online graduate program at GCU. It offers me the ability to complete my degree in the comfort of my home setting at my convenience, but offers the structure and guidance of my instructor to assist me in a successful and fulfilling graduate experience. I currently have no cons that I can think of as this is a great program!
