Grand Canyon U was convenient because I needed to work fill-time while I went to school. The professors were quality and helpful. So were the other staff that helped me achieve my goals. The classes taught me what I needed to know to become an educator. The observation hours helped me see the strategies in action. Great program.

Grand Canyon University was the best place I could have gone for my undergraduate degree. They offer a small campus, community feel with small class sizes. Because of the small class sizes, the professors got to know me and my strengths and weaknesses. They helped me long after I was finished with their specific course.

My experience at GCU has been a great experience! The faculty and the counselors are wonderful! They were very helpful, and kind! Im excited to announce that I have about 3 more weeks, until I become a GCU graduate!!! Grand Canyon will always be an University I will highly recommend other students to attend.

I have had a wonderful experience thus far at Grand Canyon University. My advisers have always been available to help me with any questions or concerns I have had in a timely manner. The teachers I have had in my program have been very knowledgeable in their subject area and I have learned so much! I would highly recommend this school to anyone.

Anyone seeking a doctorate from GCU should be warned, especially if you need to use financial aid. Once you enter the dissertation phase, exceed the continuing research course, and move to the extension of the extension courses, your aid will expire. Once your aid runs out, you are obligated to pay out of pocket for additional extension courses. The kicker is, whether you are progressing in your dissertation or not, they will still want payment to keep the "classroom open", even though you are not... Read More

Do NOT attend this University! I started GCU as an online student in 2008, however I am currently not graduated from GCU! I was an excellent student. I enjoyed the classes, but anything to do the administration and financial aid became a nightmare!!! I have still not graduated because of financial aid issues which GCU created. They have since dropped me from the school. They have also locked my account, I have NO ACCESS to records and are holding my transcripts HOSTAGE so I cannot go anywhere else.... Read More

Gcu seemed good to me at first coming from California , than they hiked up the tuition and housing cost the next year grabbing every penny & using all financial aide they could get ! They dont care about any families with low income or single moms like mine & dont help u on getting extra financial help even if youve got suoer good grades I regret not going to my local colleges instead ! My mom worked very hard to keep me there for 3 years just for them to kick me out of my dorm due to rising tuition... Read More

I was an online student at GCU for both my undergrad and for my first Masters. I will be obtaining my second masters from GCU as well. My experience has been absolutely wonderful! I LOVE being a LOPE! My SSA is someone I trust and value. I have great respect for all of my instructors, as they have been instrumental in my success. I had to work hard for my Masters 4.0 GPA, but more importantly, I am motivated to work hard and not complain about things that indicative to EVERY university. I have not... Read More

I love this campus! It is beautiful, new, and green. I enjoy hanging out and studying on campus. There are so many resources and learning tools that it has to offer, that it makes it convenient for me. I do not live on campus, but I spend a lot more time here.

In all honesty, the quality of your education here depends on how actively involved you are in the learning process. Whenever I felt that my classwork was not adequately proportional to the class level (e.g. getting level 100 coursework for a level 400 class), I would engage in extra-curricular activities that served to increase my knowledge on the subject I needed more info on. That's what internships, honor societies, and other extra-curricular and co-curricular activities are for.

I really liked the program at GCU. It allowed me to live life, yet work on my schoolwork in between. Too bad they required us to go to AZ for their residency 2 times or I would have continued my EdD there as well. The teachers were amazingly supportive, although keep in mind that any online program educators basically serve the role of facilitators rather than true teachers. This did not affect the quality of education I received however, and I actually got my husband and friends interested enough... Read More

The good Lord sent me to the right place. I was looking for a school that would help me get the degree I needed, so I could teach. I have learn so much already and still have more to learn. I have always gotten the help and support I needed from everyone I have to deal with.

I have finished all core classes, now I just have to finish internship. I have a favorable impression of GCU. My only complaint are the other students. Some are lazy and submit subpar work. This makes everyone look bad. I have found most professors to be excellent. Most have a PhD/EdD and truly care. I did drop one class because of poor instruction, but that was the only class I have had an issue with. I have put forth my best efforts and have found this to be a rewarding experience. Be prepared... Read More

Grand Canyon University is a Christian university and has a solid base in terms of the level of education/learning you will experience. The quality and content of the education you will receive here is of a high caliber. However, GCU leaves much to be desired in terms of their program roll out. This school was formerly a not for profit college, and I feel that when they switched over to the for-profit sector, they replaced God at the top of their organization with money. The doctoral program advertises... Read More

I was attending GCU for a Bachelors in Education and decided to change my major to Social Work over the Christmas break. I was told by my advisor that it would be perfectly fine to change in the new year and start with my new classes. Well, I am currently in my first new class for Social Work and realized that my next class isn't until October of this year! I found staff to be so inexperienced and disorganized, especially the financial team. Teachers were less than accessible. And for a university that claims to be "Christian" I found their attitudes much less than that. All the characteristics that I expected from a "Christian" institution were lacking, i.e. excellence, humility, grace, mercy, truth.
