Student & Graduate Reviews

Degree: Physician Assistant
Graduation Year: 2015

If programs were ranked solely by the quality of faculty and happiness of students Hofstra would consistently be number one.

Degree: Sports Management
Graduation Year: 2015

As I was comparing Master's programs with a concentration in Sports Management, I noticed many of them were certificate programs or Master's of Professional Studies programs. Hofstra University's MBA program allows me to concentrate in the field of Sports & Entertainment Management while challenging me to view the industry with an encompassing business background. This also allows me to add a second concentration, Finance, which prepares me for a competitive market. The classes are small and professors are approachable and willing to assist during office hours. I am currently attending my first couple of sports & entertainment management-specific courses and it seems as if the program does not have too many people in the program. This concerns me since it seems that the network opportunities might not be substantial.

Great education, providing great opportunities throughout the community and local organizations affiliated with the University.

Degree: Law
Graduation Year: 2015

My graduate program will aid me in preparing and sitting for New York Bar exams. Meanwhile, it has availed me the opportunity to be educated in American legal system, and hence my becoming conversant with the way law profession is done here in Nigeria. Being a foreign lawyer, Nigerian lawyer, the program is a challenge for me in the sense that I am faced with a legal system with drastic different with my home country's legal system, and with a short period of time (8 months from now), to get the vast knowledge of this system. I am also faced with a high cost of the program, the tuition fee, though it is worth it.

Degree: Healthcare Administration
Graduation Year: 2018

The Hofstra Master's in Health Administration program prepare you for a future in Health Administration. It is geared to ultimately provide you with internship, fellowship and networking opportunities in the field. The experiential learning approach provides you with real world experience. The end result still requires the student to ensure that he/she makes the most out of the networking and learning with the graduate program.

Degree: Liberal Arts
Graduation Year: 2016

The biology program at Hofstra University is a great school as long as you can afford it. The advisors in the Biology department are always available for help and push you to do your best. Overall amazing school, but wish there was more funding available.

Love my program , amazing training and professor support

Degree: Finance
Graduation Year: 2015

The diversity of the students in the MBA program allows for everyone to expand their views on all topics. The faculty is very competent and always are available to meet outside the assigned meeting times. However, room and board are both fairly expensive on campus. I would suggest attempting to find housing in Long Beach and cooking to keep costs down. The social life isn't comparable to other, bigger universities, but most of the students in grad school are no longer focused on the social events that most undergrad students are. The location is close to NYC and allows for easy networking.

Returned to Hofstra for my doctorate after being an undergrad here in 1998. The school continues to grow and provide a high level education.

Degree: Secondary Education
Graduation Year: 2015

Hofstra University Graduate program in Secondary Education is one of the best programs in New York State. The value of this Grad Program is priceless. Although the cost of attendance is a bit pricey, the accessibility of the faculty, educational support services, and quality of the education is well worth it. This school not only supports you while attending school but helps you to network and build skills for your future career!
