Degree: Communications
Graduation Year: 2015

I am a commuter so the travel from Manhattan to Long Island can be exhausting although I drive now so it is a lot less stressful than having to depend on the train. I enjoy that classes meet once a week to accommodate working professionals. I like the integration of technology in the program - it helps to create a more active learning experience.

The Hofstra Masters in Creative Arts Therapy program is unlike any other in its focus to produce professional and knowledgeable clinicians. The faculty is incredibly helpful and available and the community at large is an excellent support.

Degree: Law
Graduation Year: 2014

It is difficult to find a job with a law degree these days. The town of Hempstead is dangerous so you cannot go out in the surrounding area. However, I feel like I got a great education.

The program is great so far. There are some amazing professors. Overall, I am very happy with the program and it has realistic expectations. I just wish it was a bit more affordable.

Degree: Social Sciences
Graduation Year: 2015

I love my program because it is unique, it is the only master's of its kind in the U.S. The professors are intelligent and accessible and simply amazing. I feel that I am learning so much from them! In terms of price, its not bad but it's still expensive, like all education, its exorbitantly over-priced. As far as Hofstra itself, there isn't much I know about it because I commute and am there in limited periods and have friend only through my program! Overall I like it!

This program covers all aspects of Higher Education. The work is reasonable and really helps in grasping the topics that the program covers.

Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2013

My experience at Hofstra was mostly positive. - I learned a great deal about my field and how to apply the research and learnings in the real world - I had a wonderful advisor who was available at all times and mentored me personally and professionally - I gained a large network of colleagues in the field which is why I currently have a full-time position I would have appreciated a greater recognition of my hard work and ambition through grants and and more financial support.

Degree: Communications (Speech Pathology)
Graduation Year: 2015

The way that the program is set-up is highly beneficial to a first year graduate student. By splitting the class into two groups, a therapy cohort and a diagnostic cohort, the workload and general mental organization of the subject area becomes easily manageable. All professors and supervisors are incredibly caring and helpful; they will check in regularly and always offer their support.

Degree: Counseling
Graduation Year: 2014

The graduate program and the staff are both enriching and valuable for many reasons, one being that the staff are very experienced in the field, and two that the program structure helps you to completely understand the core of Art Therapy. The instructors are both knowledgeable and delightful persons who I have learned much from. I am disappointed in the financial aid packages given for grad students, especially after the sequester.
