Hood is a great college set in a beautiful and quaint city. The college has terrific professors who care about you as a student and want to make sure you succeed. It has lots of majors to choose from and high quality academics along with high quality professors. Since it is close to Washington, DC and the I-270 technology corridor, it provides lots of internship and job opportunities after graduating from the college.

Degree: Counseling
Graduation Year: 2018

The faculty in this department are very helpful and encouraging. They are involved with course schedule planning, as well as internship coordination and possible job placement after graduation. I find that the professors are very experienced, which add to the course material and is really critical to the understanding of this profession. Hood is in a very safe area and has a beautiful campus. It is small, but quiet and perfect for professionals seeking a graduate degree.

Degree: Education
Graduation Year: 2009

The Masters in Education, Reading Specialization program at Hood College provided a firm foundation for the Literacy Specialist position within my district. Many of the professors were former educators at the K through 12 level and we're able to draw from their experience. More attention to developmental reading techniques and to secondary education teachers would benefit the program's participants.

Hood College is a smaller school. The faculty and staff go out of their way to help with your education. Applying to the graduate school is fast and easy. They get back to you quickly as well. Surronding Area is fantastic. The School is close to Historic Downtown Frederick. And a Very easy drive to Balitmore or Washington DC.

The Thanatology program is one of the few programs in the COUNTRY. We have students who come from other states like Texas just to attend classes. Also, a lot of the Than classes are weekend intensive weekend classes so this is great for people who work long hours during the week, and for those in other states who can come for the weekend seminars. The professors are amazing as well.
