"The program offered a lot of options. My biggest complaint was it was very geared towards people who went into grad school from undergrad. There were a lot of "when you find a job" or "in the real world" comments that go very annoying. It was also very annoying that the group of people they were catering to often had group think & would give the same answers over & over again when asked for examples or real world experiences."

"The cost is hard to justify and the education I received wasn't_entirely relevant to what employers look for when hiring graduates."

"John Carroll University was a school that challenged me intellectually and pushed me socially and emotionally. The Sociology and Criminology department, headed by Dr. Harris, forced me out of my comfort zone, making me experience my learning first hand. Throughout the many courses that I took, I had to go out into the field and actually learn; I did not just sit in a lecture hall and take notes every day. One class in particular that has had a lasting impression on me was my Prejudice and Discrimination Class. During this class, we had an assignment where we had to go out into the community and look at the world though the eyes of someone in a wheelchair. This was not an easy assignment to do because it forced my out of my comfort zone. Fortunately, I do not rely on a wheelchair to get around so this assignment was challenging. Until that point I had never realized how fortunate I was to just walk over a curb to get into a restaurant or how easy it was to pick a seat out in a movie theater. After completing this assignment, my eyes were opened to how the simplest of things for one group of people can be the hardest part of another groups day. The four years I spent at John Carroll University shaped the person that I am today and I could not be prouder of working to ensure that students from disadvantaged background receive the quality education and opportunities they deserve."

"I like the program, it is specifically a cohort between the college and my employer. They have provided us with a chance to gain a reading endorsement at a very affordable price. The classes are appropriate for currently working teachers and the professors are experienced teachers most currently in the classroom. The only problem with the college is that it is not in a convenient location to freeways and has a costly parking pass policy that if not purchased very early the price goes up."

"The Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at John Carroll University is very challenging, and I have gained a lot of knowledge in only two semesters. The professors are very knowledgeable and experienced and demonstrate a passion for counseling. My only complaint is that I have had a couple of PhD. candidates as adjunct professors and although I could sense their passion for counseling, they didn't seem to have an interest in teaching. However, the other professors I have had have most definitely made up for this!"

"I love the smaller class size and the opportunity for one-on-one interaction with my professors. The commitment to Jesuit principles as applied to critical thinking make a big difference."
