"This program is super supportive with professors who really care about graduates and are experts in their fields. The program is especially distinguished by its children's lit and cultural studies tracks. Most also get full tuition and a stipend as a grad teaching assistant. I love it!"

"I am satisfied with the MA in Political Science program. There are many scholarships and assistantships available to help with the cost of tuition and housing. The professors are easy to talk to and willing to help. This program is preparing me for my career. I would recommend applying to this program."

"The program is getting better with the vision of K-State 2025, the goal for K-State to become a Top 50 research university by 2025. More money is being dedicated to research and more attempts are being made to bring in high quality faculty and graduate students. Money is being spent to upgrade and build new facilities. Campus is beautiful and safe, good relations with the community, plenty of activities to participate in, very student success focused. There are some cons though, graduate stipends aren't great and housing can be a bit expensive, plus Manhattan is in the middle of nowhere."

"The Associate Director for Graduate Studies is unfortunate as she is disorganized and lacks respect for graduate students' time and money. The disorganization seems to bleed into other aspects of the graduate program, such as letting students know about unwritten expectations for thesis requirements. Graduate Teaching Assistants tend to be overworked and are discouraged from saying "no." I even heard about one graduate student who was told that sleep deprivation was an important part of the grad student experience by a professor. However, the rest of the faculty and staff are wonderful to work with and the curriculum is important and fun to learn. I especially appreciate the feeling of collegiality; I can talk, debate, and even discuss new research ideas with professors and other graduate students."

"There are many pros to my graduate program. It's a competitive program which makes me feel very lucky that I was even accepted. It's an accredited program which means that it is a quality program and you will learn. One thing I'm getting use to the housing prices they are a little bit higher than what I am use to but it works out because I was able to receive an assistant ship and I make more than I was before so it balances out. The professors here are amazing. They are willing to help out in any way they can and they are here almost all the time. I would definitely recommend this program to others."

"Kansas State University consistently ranks among the friendliest campuses and the professors and students seem genuinely happy to be there. Manhattan is a wonderful small city, which has experienced a lot of growth in the last few years. Manhattan is about 2 hours from the nearest city (Kansas City). The Manhattan airport has grown in recent years and offers daily flights to Chicago and Dallas, so it's fairly easy to travel. I had a wonderful experience with the Political Science department at K-State. The professors are well respected in their fields and are very accessible and kind. The department is very strong in international relations. One key "pro" is that there are several opportunities for scholarships. I strongly encourage everyone to apply for the Graduate Research and Teaching positions as well. I received a well rounded education, which prepared me for a PhD program. I met a great group of peers who also went onto PhD programs and work in government. This was a great networking opportunity and I made some lifelong friends. I am very happy with this choice for a M.A. program in Political Science. Very positive environment!"

"Pros: The graduate school offers recruiting scholarships for departments to bring in top students and that scholarship comes with the stipulation of getting involved in activities and your department to keep the scholarship for a second year, the graduate school offers travel scholarships for students traveling to conferences and professional meetings"

"Pros You learn a lot of skills that you wouldn't necessarily learn from other programs. You become extremely self dependent, dedicated, and very driven. You learn to work fast, and efficiently, especially under stress and a time crunch. After 5 years of being in the same program with the same people, you know each other very well and some friendships can last a lifetime. Some students even partner up and start their own firm after graduation. Most teachers are very understanding and reasonable and many are very approachable. If you are struggling with anything at all, they will not hesitate to help you out. Cons The workload is ridiculous. There is never enough time and you must be very efficient. It makes social life almost non-existent but there is a small break now and then which does allow for us to have a break and socialize. Sometimes, the program is a bit damaging to our health - some of us forget to eat, or do not eat full meals, and sleep very minimally. There are only a select few who are able to not pull any all-nighters and get their work done perfectly, but even they experience being mentally and physically exhausted. That being said, everyone here at the program does it for a reason, we all have on some level a passion for architecture and we all experience a sense of accomplishment after every project. We have a strong will to succeed and after architecture school, we are not afraid to conquer any obstacles thrown our way."

"The faculty in the SLA program are extremely capable and talented. They challenge students to reach their full potential, but are very accessible in terms of asking questions, attending their office hours, etc. They care about their students, and get to know them on a more personal level. I have been very happy with my time at K-State so far, especially in this program. I honestly have no complaints about the program whatsoever."

"The music education graduate program is excellent in providing applicable information and experiences that can be immediately used in a classroom. There is a full time academic year graduate program and a summer graduate program that is specifically geared towards music teachers wishing to pursue their masters degree. The only con that I can think of is that some of the content in the classes are very much a repeat of what is taught in undergraduate music education programs."

"For anyone pursuing a career in veterinary medicine, you know that you are looking forward to a lifetime of difficult but rewarding work. Veterinary school is no different. Kansas State University College of Veterinary medicine is a competitive and challenging program that prepares students for a career as a veterinarian. The school provides a variety of very well qualified educators and numerous resources to assist with the students learning. My only complaint is the lack of hands-on clinical experience within the first two years of the program. Otherwise I am happy with my education and comforted knowing that my school is doing all they can to prepare me for my future."

"The program is great. As I looked back at the survey I noticed what lowered the overall rating were the petty things not associated or controllable in academics or programs. KSU has gathered a good set of scholars who do well in encouraging graduates and helping them stumble into the "Academy"."

"Like most Architecture programs there is little life outside of studio, but studios become family. Its a good work environment where peers are more then willing to help progress design and provide critical feedback. Many of the teachers dont coordinate, and so often big due dates collide with other class' projects and tests."

"Great program, with special interests in exotics, beef cattle (esp. feedlot), and epidemiology. Less equine focus. No tracking. Less hands-on training than a lot of schools before hitting clinics. Great faculty + large animal hospital good for shadowing, but small animal hospital less amenable to shadowing. Cost of program vs value is a challenge. Try to get residency status first."
