Student & Graduate Reviews

Degree: Social Sciences

This program is very intense. It is a 16-month, premium-priced grad program with classes every other weekend meals included (classes go straight through the summer). There is a lot of reading to be done and many papers. The good thing is that once you complete the readings and don't miss any classes, you should do well. Typically, there are only papers for coursework (not tests / exams... or should I say - very rarely would you get a test). It can be challenging if you are working and have children also, but that goes for any studying when you have a job and a family. The faculty are very accessible and very knowledgeable. Personally, I think it's a wonderful program and I would not change the knowledge and experience for the world. Another pro - There is a yearly one-week Study Abroad (which is included in the fees) where the class travels to an area to learn more about the conflict there (2013 class goes to Ireland).

The graduate program of Professional Writing, I am enrolled in, gives a great combination of critical thinking skills combined with practical knowledge of the theories learned in the classroom. Also faculty members make an effort to help students with job prospects, and they are always available for questions and support. P.S: the questions I didn't rate are N/A for me.

The accounting program is a fully online program allowing you to still work a normal work schedule and take classes at the same time.

Degree: Social Work
Graduation Year: 2014

As a graduate student it seems unjust that we do not have as much as support from the government to continue our education. No program gets funding like the Hope Scholarship and the like, because it is only for the undergraduate. The program through DFACS that would pay for a full ride in Social Work plus guarantee 2 years of a job has been dropped. Yet, Kennesaw and its staff will bend over backwards to insure students get what they work for. If there are struggles the staff will work for the student. When they invest in a student they will make it impossible for the student not to finish what they started. That is amazing.

Degree: Teaching
Graduation Year: 2013

I am currently in the Master of Arts in Teaching Art Education program, and am enjoying my experience. Overall this is a great program to get your teacher certification. It is 5 semesters long and a bit intense, but you get to work with qualified and knowledgeable professors that have worked in education and are artists themselves. Very worth while and a great networking opportunity with local schools
