Degree: Special Education
Graduation Year: 2015

The M. Ed in Special Education program that Lamar University offers was very great. I was able to finish in 18 months because they offer couses that last 5 weeks and one to rest after each course is completed. Every course was challenging and I learned a lot in a very short time. The instructors were always on top of things, and there to help me. Everything was done online, and I never had to wait more than 24 hours to get the information that I requested.

Lamar University's online M.Ed in Digital Leading and Learning has allowed me to flourish within my job. As a former Digital Learning Coach and, now, back in the secondary science classroom, I feel empowered to help lead my students into the 21st century. I am confident that my classroom will be innovative, engaging, and help meet the needs of all my students thanks to the DLL program. My ePortfolio is something I continue to add to and can share with my colleagues. I highly recommend this program to anyone who would be looking for the traditional Educational Technology degree.

Making the decision to enroll into graduate school can be a challenging one. One might find themselves debating, Is graduate school really worth it? and Do I really want to sacrifice ever break and holiday for the next two years, if not longer? I too had these same questions running through my mind before I begin the application process to attend Lamar University. However, after completing the program it was completely worth it. It was a privilege and honor to complete my Masters of Education at Lamar University, I gained a vast amount of insight and wisdom throughout the duration of my program that I apply to current job today. The program that I selected was 100% percent online, I was concern that this was going to be overwhelming for me, however after completing the program I know it was designed for students like myself. The program was set-up through five-week courses, this gave me the opportunity to take only one class at a time. and have one week off prior to starting my next class. During the program if I misunderstood anything or if I struggled during any course my professors were readily available during the duration of the course to assist me anyway possible. I also appreciate the experience I had at Lamar due to its flexibility. I recall towards the end of my program having to take a break to focus on my job. As soon as I was ready to continue the program Lamar was there to assist. The college advisers quickly placed me into the last course that I needed and I was still able to graduate on time due to their assistance and support. If I could do it all over again I would have made one change, I would have enrolled into the program earlier.

Lamar boasts cutting edge, yet well-established counseling degrees online. The programs are streamlined, standardized, reliably rigorous yet fair, and their value is second to none. There is simply no more affordable, nor flexible way to obtain a highly respected counseling degree outside of Lamar's offerings.

Lamar university has given me the option to be able to stay on task with daily life and be able to obtain more knowledge, this is something that I have been passionate about since I began to work with juvenile. Clinical mental health will allow me to gain more knowledge on mental health issue around the nation but for me it will allow me to be a helping hand in which I can start with our children. The kids are our future and we as a nation need to start now on changing things around, get away from the historical issues of this nation and fix it for tomorrow. Lamar University gives me the option to stay on track with my career and be able to learn at the same time it was the answer I needed. I would advise anyone to take the time out and look at this school as an option and open that next chapter in your educational book!
